SILVER CONCORDE (2.30) is the most interesting runner on the card at Musselburgh, with the former Champion Bumper winner making his debut for Keith Dalgleish in the maiden hurdle.

Dermot Weld’s 2014 Cheltenham hero failed subsequently to fulfil his potential and has crossed the water to Dalgleish’s Carluke base.

Silver Concorde arrives in Scotland on the back of two defeats in maiden hurdles in Ireland but he still looks a class apart in this company. Some firms were going 5-4 last night and that seems overly generous.

The Irish connection is continued in the bumper, with CHEROKEE PRINCE (3.30) representing Ronnie O’Leary.

A plunge on this horse went astray at Bangor last time when he helped cut out the running before emptying two out.

It looked a disappointing effort at the time but runner-up Nestor Park won for Ben Pauling at Ascot last Saturday and Brian Hughes again takes the mount.

CANNY STYLE (1.30) made an excellent debut over hurdles at Carlisle when finding only the Evan Williams-trained Cesar Collonges too strong.

She has a fine track record on the Flat at Musselburgh, with form figures reading 1-1-3 from three visits.

Simone was a beaten favourite on her first start for Lucinda Russell but may not have handled the heavy ground at Perth that day.

Heartasia, a dual bumper winner, represents in-form Susan Corbett, while Boogie Life’s third to Tom George’s Champagne City at Kelso was a decent effort back in May.

James Ewart has enjoyed a fine start to the new season and THE WISE ONE (12.30) can put a poor effort last time behind him in the 3m handicap hurdle.

The gelding was well backed on his reappearance here three weeks ago but never struck a blow. If anything, this is a weaker contest and The Wise One scored over course and distance in March on very similar ground.
