THOMMO is backing Freedom and Wheat to followup his Lingfield stormer with victory at Wolverhampton.
FREEDOM AND WHEAT (6.45) blazed out of the stalls and had the race sewn up by halfway at Lingfield last week and he is fancied to defy a 6lb penalty now turned out quickly at Wolverhampton.
Elsewhere on the twilight card, Para Mio made his first attempt at 1m 4f a winning one when landing some hefty bets at Newcastle and will go off at short odds on the back of a very fair 4lb rise. The each-way value should be ICE CANYON (4.35), knocking at the door over course and distance last month. The gelding was grabbed close home by Yasir and ran a respectable fourth to Champarisi in slightly better class a fortnight later.
Kempton’s afternoon action looks difficult but ATHASSEL (2.10) can reward an each-way interest. David Evans has been among the winners lately and Athassel was desperately unlucky not to score after a troubled passage at Lingfield. The old boy is a course and distance winner and stall three looks ideal.
