If Newcastle survives the cold snap IT’S ALL A LARK can defy a penalty for her cosy Kelso victory under a positive ride. She was having her first run for Donald McCain following a switch from Colin Bowe in Ireland and Brian Hughes is likely to have her in the firing line throughout.
Newcastle 2.30
TAKINGRISKS ran very well behind useful Lake View Lad in a Grade 3 chase at Wetherby on Boxing Day and his earlier close second to Vintage Class at Haydock was another solid run.
Wolverhampton 6.15
SANTAFIORA can complete a course and distance hat-trick at Wolverhampton. Julie Camacho’s mare has hit a purple patch and Santafiora should enjoy the run of the race with trailblazer Taverner likely to be rushed up from a wide draw.
Zapper Cass chased home Dark Alliance in a claimer here over an extra furlong and is a threat. Turanga Leela made all to score here in mid-December but won’t want to get involved in a burn-up with Taverner.
