ALAN has picks from Ascot and Southwell today as he looks to build on his 7-2 winner and 11-2 place yesterday.
Ascot 1.20
DUSTIN DES MOTTES, a dual winner in France on very soft ground, will find conditions to suit at Ascot. Dr Richard Newland’s gelding was taken off his feet by free-running Knocknanuss at Newbury when the track was possibly riding a tad too quick but this handicap chase should be run at a less frenetic gallop.
Ascot 1.55
THOMAS DARBY scored for Olly Murphy at Cheltenham in October before losing out by a head to useful Didtheyleaveuoutoo over course and distance when sent off favourite. That sets a good standard.
Ascot 3.05
KAPGARRY (3.05), a Wetherby winner in October, found Grade 2 company too hot when only fifth to Coolanly at Cheltenham’s big November fixture. Jordan Nailor takes of a useful 6lb and if all 16 runners go to post, Kapgarry is a nice each-way bet at double-digit odds.
Southwell 3.15
COUSIN KHEE has competed twice over the extreme 2m 2f trip at Southwell and emerged victorious on both occasions. Hughie Morrison’s veteran fared well enough behind The Last Debutante here over a shorter trip last time out to suggest he can complete the 2m 2f hat-trick.

Robero seems to have opened at 4s and is now 13/2, i havent looked at many horses in the race and that could be a good thing… robero has 7 taken off his back after finishing 2nd and 3rd off today’s mark.. he was 2l back to angel palanas who was 12lbs better off than him.. the horse won and came 2nd in class 4 company off of 73 albeit with a 7lb claimer.. worthy ew material

the 1150 looks a low quality affair, market doesnt speak promisingly for a fav to win, so i will split a £10 stake. throwing £3 on 5/1 fav deep resolve, with £2 on siyahamba. edgar has gone from 8s to 25/1 but i will have 2.50 on him 20/1 1 for 5 places

Going to take a chance on MILROW 3.05 @28/1. Not the most consistent of horses but if on a going day could get competitive.
Has his first run on this type of going but breeding would suggest will handle it fine. Last few runs not great but they were class 1 and 2 and today drops into class 3 with 5lbs taken off his back.
