Alan Thomson’s Racing Tips: Jacob can come to the four

JACOB BLACK (4.30) is unbeaten in three runs at Musselburgh this season and he goes unpenalised for landing an apprentices’ race at Hamilton last week. There is no reason why it shouldn’t become win No. 4 at the track.

ETERNALIST (3.25) fairly hacked up from Landing Night over course and distance earlier in the month. Jim Goldie’s mare is up 5lb but big Jim has booked useful 7lb claimer Sophie Ralston.

POUR L’AMOUR (3.55) keeps knocking at the door and she has a first-rate opportunity in the 1m 4f handicap. Her second to Kath’s Legacy at Chepstow is probably the strongest piece of form on offer.

GREAT FIGHTER (5.00) runs the track well and a repeat of his second to Bedrock in June would make him hard to beat in a tricky little 2m handicap. Golden Jeffrey should ensure the solid gallop he needs to attack. Four Kingdoms beat Golden Jeffrey quite comfortably at Ayr but isn’t guaranteed to confirm the form over this longer trip.

TWILIGHT (2.20) showed improved form at Thirsk last week when running on into third behind Forever A Lady and Arabian Jazz.
