THERE'S another great day's racing in store at Leopardstown Festival on Sunday and Alan has two picks from there and two from Southwell.
Leopardstown 3.0
CLASS rose to the surface at Leopardstown yesterday and unbeaten chaser DELTA WORK can reward favourite backers in the Grade 1 Novice Chase. Last season’s Pertemps Network Final winner over hurdles at the Cheltenham festival has looked very good over the bigger obstacles, inflicting defeat on yesterday’s scorer Le Richebourg when they clashed at Fairyhouse.
Leopardstown 3.35
AL BOUM PHOTO should go close in the Unibet Irish Gold Cup. The Willie Mullins-trained chaser took the measure of useful Shattered Love in the Ryanair Gold Cup at Fairyhouse last April and had plenty in hand of Total Recall on his comeback at Tramore, conceding the runner-up 10lb. Paul Towend takes the mount with Ruby Walsh aboard stablemate Bellshill.
Southwell 2.10
POINT ZERO was called some rude names when clocking up an unenviable sequence of losses at short odds on the Fibresand but he looked a reformed character when scoring at Southwell ten days ago wearing an eye-shield for the first time. If in the same mood he will win the seller.
Southwell 1.0
At bigger odds, KODI DREAM could well defy a 6lb penalty for his Newcastle victory on Friday evening – only his second start for Roger Fell since arriving from Ireland.
12:40 Leopardstown – Court Maid @ 8/1 (NAP)

2:10 Southwell – Point Zero (NB)
3:00 Leopardstown – La Bague Au Roi (Patent)
3:35 Leopardstown – Al Boum Photo (Yankee)

Contingency Fee is stepped up 2f after finishing 2nd at this track this week. He is running off the same mark and looks set to be there at the end. 1 win in 16 races isn’t promising, especially with it being over 5f less than today. However, it was off of a legitimate 59, whereas today she runs off 48 including the claim. She is up 2f from her race here a few days ago which looks as though connections are trying everything to get a win whilst she is apparently in good form. He is more than capable of winning today but I will be looking elsewhere. His market rivals include Isharah who lost to Seasearch by 6l on 6th January, they reoppose with Isharah now 4lbs better off, running over 2f less. He has run over 2m his last two starts but in general has absolutely dreadful numbers. Balding/Joshua – Seasearch’s connections are in form, having had winners recently. The jockey’s numbers 12213 for last 5 rides and would be my selection if I was trying to pick a winner. With this being a bottom of the barrel race, I will in stead opt to play EW.
I do love a Ivory/Duern horse, it’s been dropped from class 5 to 6 company and is 2lbs lower than when 4/10 lto. Making his fibresand debut today, I feel 12/1 (9/1 4 places) is a good ew price given the horse is 1lb below his last winning mark. Besides Incredible Dream, I also like the look of RULER OF THE NILE, who has drifted from 9s to 16s, which is not ideal at all. Ruler of the Nile ran over 1m4f at this track, coming 2nd by 0.5l to Anna Jameela. He led too early but held his form together well, suggesting the extra 2f and slower pace should suit. According to Sporting Life, they both raced off 54, but ROTN carried 4lbs more, for some unbeknownst reason to me. Anyway, NTO, Anna Jameela raced off 58, losing by 0.5l to a horse rated 59, however he had 5lbs taken off and was effectively 54, third in that race by a neck was SEASEARCH, which puts these 2 close on rating. ROTN races off 55 today. After this race, ROTN was stepped up to 2m in an amateurs race, 5 of the 6 horses in front of him had a minimum of 5lbs taken off, he didn’t, today is 2f shorter. Ruler of the Nile 16/1 ew, 4 places 12/1, 5 places 10/1.
Not much joy yesterday but a bit unlucky with Abacadabras running out when looking good for at least 2nd and Le Richebourg winning.
Onto today and there dropping like flies with quite a few Nr’s
12.40 Alletrix 11/1 5 places pp ew
Although a lot higher than last year in the weights is the only C&D winner in the field and will act well on the ground
1.15 Sir Erec 6/4
Came out on top over TTT last time and will hopefully confirm the form today
1.50 Klassical Dream 11/4
Has beaten most of these already
3.00 Le Bague Au Roi 11/10
Should take all the beating now with Delta Work out
4.10 Landofhopeandglory 10/1 ew boyles 5 places
Didn’t get very far last year but are back for another crack and well h’capped on hurdles rating if he can produce that kind of form

break the silence drops from 5 to 6 from lto when 4th on thursday… bee machine up 1lb for a 1.25l 2nd, up 1f, has won off effectively 2lbs higher in october. kodi koh makes fibre debut but is down 8lbs all told.
AMITY ISLAND is dropped 3 and loses an extra 4 with claimer, not amazing form but did win over this c and d from 61 in april, 15lbs lower today.
