We've plenty of top-class racing to look forward to over the coming days, with the Aintree Festival kicking off on Thursday.
I'm hoping the Aintree Festival is kind to us this year. It would be nice to reverse the shocking form of the recent Cheltenham festival. Fingers crossed, we can land some profitable Lucky 15 bets over the coming days.
Cairnzys Tips
Impaire Et Passe 5/2 – Aintree 13.45
My first selection comes in the Grade One EBC Group Manifesto Novices’ Chase over 2m4f. The race itself looks like a cracker on paper, and you can make claims for plenty in this field.
Jango Baie looks a danger to all, arriving here on the back of his victory at Cheltenham in the Arkle, a race which saw him power up the hill to get the better of the well-fancied Majborough.
With that said, I think Impaire Et Passe should have a bit too much class for this field. I did originally question the form of his last run, which saw him finish 10L behind the eventual winner Ballyburn, who has since flopped at Cheltenham. It's easy to sit here and say the form of that contest now looks awful, but Ballyburn on his day is a top class operator, and he wasn't the only favourite to flop during the Cheltenham festival. Furthermore, my selection did stay on in that contest, which was encouraging to see as he never looked happy during running.
Spillane's Tower 3/1 – Aintree 14.55
The Aintree Bowel is another cracking race on Day One of the Aintree Festival, and again, plenty arrive here with claims.
Rizz has gone for Ahoy Senor on the main thread and I can see his angle into that one for sure. I opted for Spillane's Tower, who I feel can bounce back here and hopefully show the form he showed when finishing second in the John Durkan. He finished ahead of Galopin Des Champs and only half a length behind the winner in Fact to File. Fact To File has boosted the form by hosing up in the Ryan Air, while Galopin Des Champs ran well in defeat in the Gold Cup. I think a repeat performance of that run would make him hard to beat.
Constitution Hill 10/11 – Aintree 15.30
I/m not going to blabber on with this one, but I think the 10/11 odds on offer for Constitution Hill is decent value, and if he stays on his feet this time, then I think he wins this contest.
I'm looking forward to seeing the rematch between him and Lossiemouth, even more so now as Lossiemouth looked back to her best when winning at Cheltenham.
With that said, Constitution Hill is clear on official ratings, and I struggle to see Lossiemouth getting the better of him, and that's even with the 7lb mares allowance taken into account.
Rath Gaul Hill 10/1 – Aintree 16.40
I've had to add one horse in at bigger odds, and I've decided to take a chance on the inform Rath Gaul Hill who I thought offered some value at a double figure price of 10/1.
Rath Gaul Hill is very much an improving sort at the age of 7, and I don't believe he is done progressing just yet. I was impressed with his most recent victory at Newbury. My selection travels well throughout his races and tends to show a willing attitude when asked to go and win. This contest represents a step up in class, but I think this progressive seven year old can run a big race under Sam Twiston-Davies, who notably was on board my selection last time out.
