IT'LL be a London Derby in the FA Cup final at the beginning of august after Chelsea disposed of Man Utd in some style at Wembley on Sunday.

Frank Lampard's men outfoxed the Red Devils but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side were once again left ruing a mistake by ‘keeper David De Gea. The early odds see the bookies install the Blues as 8/13 favourites to lift the trophy, while the Gunners are 11/10.

Leicester City's slide down the table continued with a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Spurs. Despite Man Utd being a point behind with a game in hand the Foxes chances of making the Champions League next season is still in their own hands thanks to both sides meeting at the King Power Stadium on the last dy of the season this Sunday. Should be a cracker.

Spurs' win saw them leapfrog Wolves in to 6th place in the table but Nuno Espírito Santo's side have the chance to regain that position with a win over Crystal Palace in tonight's 8.15pm kick-off.  They've had a successful European campaign so far this season and will be hungry to secure a Eurpean football at Molineux for a second consecutive season.

Elsewhere, Sheffield United, who still have a slim chance of pipping Wolves to that 6th place, host Everton at Bramall Lane and a point for Brighton at home to Newcastle will ensure Premier League safety for another season.

Now that I’m retired and got loads of time on my hands, I’ve been watching football from all over the world, and at all times of the day and night.
I’ve watched most of the 23 games played so far of the MLS Is Back Tournament, and funnily enough, the ones I’ve missed have been during OUR daytime.
Anyway, there have been some stonking games, with loads of goals, and non-stop end to end action.
23 games, 14 of them BTTS, as well as 14 with over 2.5 match goals, and 7 over 3.5 goals.

However, my night owl kicks off shortly, at 1am UK time, ( although most games kick off 20-30 mins later than advertised) and features Chicago Fire and San Jose Earthquakes.
I’ve watched all 3 games that these two teams have featured in so far. SJE kicked off with a goalless draw v Seattle Sounders, and just a few days later CF saw off the same team with a 2-1 victory.
The best game of that group so far though, was SJE’s second match, an encounter with Vancouver Whitecaps, which they won 4-3, and they also managed to rack up 22 corners!
In their goalless draw with Seattle, they had 9 corners, and even though it was scoreless, they had 16 attempts at goal, with 8 on target.

The 3 games so far for both teams tonight have featured in total 51 attempts at goal, with 26 on target, as well as 42 corners, and 10 goals.
While I’m not expecting anywhere near those high numbers, with this being SJE’s final group game, and both teams knowing a win will see them qualify tonight, I’m expected an open game with goals and corners.
I’m not going overboard with my bets, no more that £1 on each of my selections, but here’s what I’ve decide on.

Over 2.5 goals and over 9 corners @2.26
Over 2.5 goals and over 10 corners @2.65
BTTS, over 2.5 goals and over 9 corners @2.50
BTTS, over 2.5 goals and over 10 corners @3.0
Over 3.5 goals and over 9 corners @3.15

Good luck if you’re on any of them…

Oz, totally agreed with your write up and 0-0 at half time looks like killing my Chicago and O2.5mgs and O3.5mgs bets.

Was looking at the second game as indeed going on past stats

    • oz777 4 years ago

The referee ruined the game from the off, Pedro.
A whistle happy chappie who must be making his first appearance on TV.
I had to mute the sound on my telly in case the constant shrill from his whistle woke the missus up.
With 15 minutes to go he’s dished out 7 yellow cards, and I haven’t seen one over the top challenge. 😕

Blame the dodgy goalkeeper, blame the head injuries to a certain extent, even blame the very poor team selection

But the truth of the matter is that Chelsea outwitted, outplayed, out thought, out fought and out ran Man Utd

And therefore out of the Cup

Man Utd and Man City both thought the semi finals were easy games and got found out.

Man Utd proved what they are over rated and mediocre

Bring on Liverpool arsenal and bayern Munich

    • maccathered 4 years ago

They don’t have the players that work hard enough,to many luxury players who aren’t willing to put in a shift every game. That’s the difference between the top two clubs in England and the rest.If you look at Wolves and Sheffield United they are where they are because the players are willing to put in the sheer hard work in a game of football week in week out,no fancy names just players willing to work for the team and this all comes from the manager.Ole Gunner Solskjaer method is were Man Utd and we expect to win, football doesn’t work like that now.

    • jstuhhs 4 years ago

      Macca

Quite right too many players not wanting to work hard and fortunately got there just rewards

Keep going on about their long unbeaten run but they played very few top class teams

Their squad does not have the depth of Liverpool Man City and Chelsea

Will be klucky t finish in the top four next season as well as this

      Trev,…

    • alex_mufc83 4 years ago

the truth is this forum has a lot of United-hating members who will say literally anything against the club they despise – no positives, or constructives, only the negatives. Just fully biased comments.

    • maccathered 4 years ago

So you would disagree with my statement then alex,What your saying is Man Utd players work their socks off,if that’s the case then i have to disagree mate.

    • jstuhhs 4 years ago

      Alex

      Thanks for replying

Firstly I for one am not a United hating member in fact they are quite often the team I bet to win and have won more than i have lost.

Do you think the comments I posted about yesterdays game were biased

I dont think they were but thats my opinion and you are quite welcome to disagree

      Trev,..

    • alex_mufc83 4 years ago

Your statement regarding the team as a whole, yes I would disagree.

Yesterday Chelsea’s tactics were spot on. High-pressing and didn’t give United players any time on the ball. They were the better team and deserved winners, which is what I said yesterday.

The United players that matter and have actually made an impact since the restart do work hard – Bruno Fernandes, Greenwood, Rashford, Martial. The main players who have been poor since returning are Pogba and De Gea. I’d agree that Pogba doesn’t work anywhere near hard enough and is often lazy.. takes too much time on the ball and hasn’t been tracking back. Both him and De Gea are massively overpaid and haven’t worked hard enough to improve. But that simply can’t be said of the likes of Fernandes who has been chasing everything up top as well as been tracking back to make important interceptions.

    • Deano86 4 years ago

Your spot on Alex with all that

    • jstuhhs 4 years ago

      Alex,

I think your comments are a fair reflection of the game

I would definetly agree abour Pogba and De Gea,also I think fernandes is a class player and a bargian at the price you paid for him.
I would also question team selection leaving Greenwood and martial on the bench when in your own words do work hard

I would have thought in a Semi Final especially a FA Cup Semi Final Ole would have selected his strongest squad.

Again just my opinion and definetly not a dig at you personnally

      Trev,…

    • alex_mufc83 4 years ago

      Trev

Yeah the starting line-up puzzled me but I think it was a combination of selecting the same team that beat Chelsea 2-0 back in Feb with wanting to rest some of the front 3 who have played every game since the restart.

But Martial and Greenwood should’ve started the game and subbed off later if Ole wanted to rest the players. Starting with Daniel James who had rightfully been dropped for consistent poor performances and Fred was a mistake. Should’ve stuck with the formula that has been working since restart.

Anyway beaten fair and square so congrats to Chelsea on that. For me the Leicester game will be one to properly judge the players on. Cheers.

    • jstuhhs 4 years ago

      Alex

I for one hope Chelsea and Man Utd are in the Champions league next season as I am a believer (no disrespect meant to Leicester) that the four best teams should fill thr top 4 for a seat at the big table

Apologies to any Leicester fanes but they have thrown it all away

      Trev,…

    • Mr Fixit 4 years ago

If Leicester finish top four they are one of the best four teams.

    • Mr Fixit 4 years ago

Just a simple double for me tonight – Wolves to beat Palace as they chase the Europa League and Juventus to just about seal the title by beating Lazio at home.

    • maccathered 4 years ago

Again your talking about individual players, for a team to be successful 11 players need to work as hard as one another,it’s not that Chelsea got their tactics spot on it’s a case of 11 players not turning up for Man Utd.Any half decent manager would of seen what Chelsea were doing in the first 20 mins and changed the system or their tactics, sorry alex but Man Utd are poor and this so called good run consisted of mediocre teams, don’t forget you drew 1-1 with a poor Spurs side.Could you imagine this Man utd team up Against the like of Bayern or Barcelona and these are the teams they will be likely to face when they enter the Champions league,Harry Maguire was a poor signing and will get slaughtered at the highest level.

    • cptnsnort 4 years ago

Alex, have a look at the build up to Chelsea’s first goal again and then have another look at your comment about Fernandes’ work ethic

    • alex_mufc83 4 years ago

We were talking about the work rate of the team which and I’m sticking firm to my comments about the game.
Not saying United are a great team but they are vastly improved from before lockdown especially in attack, which most people would agree with. Defence is poor and should be top priority to strengthen. I’ve said a few times that we need to sign a CL-quality defender and the goalkeeper position needs fixing. Maguire and Lindelof are not good enough for the very top flight.
The team has improved a lot so heading in the right direction. I’ve never said we’re ready to compete with Liverpool or City but a lot better than we were.

    • alex_mufc83 4 years ago

and cptnsprt regarding Fernandes I’ll judge him on his overall performances across the full 90 minutes from the 18 games he’s played rather than 1 single mistake he may have made in a game.

Posted around midnight, you might have seen my write up…😆

    The MLS Is Back Tournament.
Chicago Fire v San Jose Earthquakes.

All the stats suggested a more positive outcome, but then I forgot to check up on the referee, who ruined the game from first whistle to last.
    A
I don’t think there was a whole minute went by without him blowing up, for the slightest bit of contact.
EIGHT cards he dished out, in a game that hardly had a rash tackle, and his management of the game seemed to affect Chicago’s flow, more than San Jose’s, who went on to win the game 2-0.
Only 7 corners in the end, but I DO wish bet365 would offer bookings prices for ALL their games 😕

Needless to say, the other group game, a few hours later, finished over 2.5 goals and with 12 corners. 😢

    Today on the following;

    –Double–
    Juventus O1.5 TGls
    Braga O1.5 TGls

    6/5

    3 POINTS
    *NAP*

Juventus have an excellent home scoring record in league games and have netted at least 2 goals in their last 7 consecutive games. Lazio have been pretty inconsistant on the road and have conceded 2 or more goals to the likes of Lecce and Genoa. Juve have had some poor results on the road and despite leading Serie A table, Sarri is under some pressure to deliver wins after failing to do so in their last 3.

Braga are desperate for points after a disappointing 1-1 draw against Belenenses, I watched the game and they had around 30 shots on goal but only netted once, could and should have been a win by 2 or 3. If they win tonight against Tondela they have the chance go above Sporting – very important for that European spot. They also have an excellent record against Tondela and won the last 6 H2H’s.

Liverpool win their first league title in 30 years and in a year where every other top side has been inconsistent at best as is evident in the amount of points dropped by Man City,Chelsea,United,Spurs etc against the lesser weights and yet the Liverpool fans with the usual scouse tunnel vision somehow see Liverpool as the benchmark for Premier League success. You are now on a par with Leicester not the kings of the premier league Manchester United. Gregbrowning, really interested in joining your new service as you are a great tipster. However, before I press the join button, can you give an indication of your success rates over recent times? Also, are most of the bets corner bets? Thanks

    • Mr Fixit 4 years ago

You describe him as a “great tipster” so you must know roughly how successful he is.

    Portugal 9-15.
    Porto v moreiense.
Moreiense to score 5-6 (hills team to score in shop coupon) NAP.

Porto have clinched the league and moreiense safe in 8th which could lead to a more open game than normal and entertain the fans in Porto’s last home game, if they were there 😀.

Moreiense unbeaten away since January 5th and scored in all 8 of those away games.
Current hills shop btts price is 17-20 which is more or less the same as my bet.

Best Btts price I can see online is 19-20 at bet365.

    1-1 after 20 minutes.
    🏐😀 winner 😀🏐.

No joy with the Italian Nap – 4 bookings and fell short – better luck with the Nb and a penalty scored at 31/20.

Nothing doing with Longshots – well done all winners!
