Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on the Nations League fixtures and there’s a side I like the look of to make the net bulge at least twice. To boost the price up, I’ve added a cards angle to form a solid looking bet builder.
Lithuania ?? vs Turkey ??
?? Nations League
⏰ Tuesday 7th June, 19:45
Two sides who made contrasting starts to their Nations League campaign meet in Vilnius, as Lithuania play host to Turkey at the Žalgiris Stadium.
Lithuania began their Nations League campaign with a defeat, as a Daniel Sinani goal in each half gave Luxembourg a 0-2 victory in the Lithuanian capital. Valdas Ivanauskas’s side failed to qualify for this years World Cup, as they had a disappointing qualifying campaign, with them losing seven of their eight qualifiers. Lithuania failed to record a single clean sheet in World Cup qualifying, conceding a total of 19 goals, with 11 of them coming in their four qualifiers in-front of their own supporters. Lithuania collected a total of 17 cards in their eight World Cup qualifiers, as well as four against Luxembourg last time out.
Turkey kicked-off their Nations League campaign with a routine 4-0 win over the Faroe Islands in Istanbul on Saturday evening. The Crescent-Stars failed to qualify for this years World Cup as they were beaten 3-1 by Portugal in their playoff semi-final. However, the Turks did have a successful qualification campaign, collecting 21 points from a possible 30 and finishing just two points behind group-winners Holland. Turkey’s opponents have picked up multiple cards in 10/11 of their World Cup qualifiers, with the Faroe Islands also picking up multiple cards against Turkey on Saturday evening.
Bet of the Day
Lithuania and Turkey made contrasting starts to their Nations League campaigns and it’s hard to see the visitors not collect all three points in Vilnius on Tuesday night. Stefan Kuntz’s side scored 18 goals in their six World Cup qualifiers against Gibraltar, Latvia and Montenegro, scoring at least twice in each and they should bag another brace against a Lithuania side that lost seven of their eight World Cup qualifiers, as well as their opening Nations League fixture at home to Luxembourg. To boost the price up, I’ve decided to add in Valdas Ivanauskas’s hosts to pick up at least two cards (or one red). Turkey’s opponents have been carded on multiple occasions in 10/11 of their World Cup qualifiers, whilst the Faroe Islands also picked up two against the The Crescent-Stars on Saturday. Lithuania have picked up 15 cards in their last five competitive fixtures at home and given Turkey are expected to have most of the ball, there’s a good chance they’ll collect at least two here.
- Turkey to Score 2+ Goals & Lithuania 20+ Booking Points
- Pays 11/10 (SkyBet BuildABet)
For those wondering, 1 yellow card = 10 booking points and 1 red = 25 booking points ??
Also, other bookmakers may have the card markets available in the morning/afternoon ??
Have to be a bit careful Greg, I know William Hill differentiate between match cards and booking points, the former being a red card equals 1 card and as you say booking points being 25pts for a red.
Yeah I was talking about booking points but yeah bookmakers vary in their rules for match/team cards when a red has been awarded ??
Turkey to Score 2+ Goals & Lithuania 20+ Booking Points ✅ (0-6 ⚽️ 4-2 ?)
Pays 11/10 ✅✅
