After seeing our winning run end at three following the disappointing lack of goals in Finland on Friday, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the EFL, and there’s one team in particular who appeals to me for goals.
⚽️ Blackpool vs Huddersfield Town
🏴 League One
⏰ Saturday 16 August, 15:00
Two clubs who have made contrasting starts to their League One campaigns meet at Bloomfield Road tomorrow afternoon as joint-leaders Huddersfield travel to pointless Blackpool in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Huddersfield are well-fancied for promotion this season, and new boss Lee Grant has made the perfect start to his first managerial role.
The ex-Derby County and Manchester United goalkeeper began his reign as Terriers boss with a 3-0 victory over last season's beaten playoff finalists Leyton Orient, before securing a 0-2 win away at Reading last weekend.
Blackpool, on the other hand, have made a poor start to the campaign, losing both of their opening two league matches.
Steve Bruce’s men suffered an opening-day 2-3 defeat at home to Stevenage, before being thrashed 4-1 at Exeter last weekend.
Bet of the Day
As alluded to, these two sides have made very different starts to the campaign, with Huddersfield having made a perfect start, whilst Blackpool have been shipping goals for fun.
The Terriers have notched multiple goals in both of their opening two league matches – as well as in midweek in the League Cup against Leicester – and I like the look of them scoring at least twice on their fourth consecutive trip to Bloomfield Road against a Tangerines defence that has shipped seven goals across their opening two League One encounters this season.
- Huddersfield Town to Score Over 1.5 Goals
- Pays 11/8 (William Hill)
