Football Bet of the Day: Swedish Goal Kings J-Södra to Bag Another Brace

Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Swedish second tier, and there’s one side in particular who I’m keen to back to bag another brace.

Two clubs separated by only two places and one point meet at Stadsparksvallen tomorrow afternoon as 5th-placed Jönköpings Södra host 7th-placed Trelleborg, and I’m backing the hosts to bag a couple of goals.

J-Södra failed to bounce back from their 2-3 defeat at home to 4th-placed Öster, as they conceded in stoppage time to draw 2-2 away at second-from-bottom Helsingborg. Andrés García’s men have won just four times in the league this season, but only league leaders Utsikten (1) have lost fewer matches than their tally of two. The Jönköping-based side have been fairly inconsistent at home this season, winning three and losing two of their six Superettan fixtures in front of their supporters (W3-D1-L2).

Trelleborg endured a tough start to their league campaign, losing five of their opening six Superettan fixtures. However, Kristian Haynes’ visitors have been in tremendous form of late, going on to win four and draw one of their next five league fixtures to move them within four points of 3rd-placed GAIS. However, Trelleborg have struggled on their travels, collecting just four points from a possible 15 (W1-D1-L3), – with their solitary victory coming against bottom side Skövde AIK.

J-Södra are the leading scorers in the Swedish Superettan this term, scoring 23 goals across their opening 11 matches, with 12 of those coming at home. Andrés García’s hosts have found the back of the net in each of their previous 10 league outings – striking on multiple occasions in nine of them – and I’m backing them to bag another brace at home to a Trelleborg defence without a clean sheet across their five matches away from home this season, conceding 11 times.
