Football Bet of the Day: Stay in Türkiye on Wednesday Afternoon

Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me stay in the Turkish Süper Lig, and there’s one team in particular that I’m keen to get onside.

Kayserispor will aim to climb as high as fifth spot in the Turkish Süper Lig table as they welcome 12th-placed Kasımpaşa to the Kadir Has Stadium tomorrow afternoon.

Kayserispor saw their two-match winning run in the Turkish top-flight come to an end emphatically last time out, as they were thrashed 6-0 away at league leaders Galatasaray. Çağdaş Atan’s men were victorious in their previous home fixture, defeating relegation-haunted Ümraniyespor 3-1, meaning they’ve been victorious in three of their last five league contests in front of their supporters. The Anatolian Star have found the back of the net in 12/13 of their home Süper Lig fixtures that they have played in this term – awarded a 3-0 victory in their other home match against Hatayspor in the middle of last month following their withdrawal from the league after the earthquake – scoring 22 goals.

Similar to their upcoming opponents, Kasımpaşa heads into this fixture off the back of a heavy defeat, as they were hammered 5-0 away at fourth-placed Adana Demirspor. That result continues Kasımpaşa’s struggles on their travels this campaign, with Kemal Özdes’s visitors having lost 8/12 of their away fixtures they’ve played in this term, including each of their last six – awarded a 0-3 victory against Gaziantep at the start of the month following their withdrawal from the league after the earthquake. The Apaches have scored just eight goals across their 12 away league outings they’ve featured in this term, conceding 23 goals.

Bet of the Day

Kayserispor have W7-D1-L5 as hosts in the Turkish Süper Lig this term, with that record changing to W5-D0-L0 when welcoming bottom-half sides, and they’ll be confident of securing another maximum at home to a Kasımpaşa side that has lost 8/12 of their road trips they’ve played in this season, including each of their last six.

Whilst backing Kayserispor to win the game outright is tempting, I’m happy to be slightly cautious and back them on the -0.25 Asian Handicap. That would mean that if the match ended in a draw, we would at least receive back half of our stake.
