Two clubs separated by two places and four points in the Eliteserien table meet at the Åråsen Stadion on Sunday afternoon as 7th-placed Lillestrøm play host to 9th-placed Rosenborg in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Eirik Bakke’s hosts have scored 37 goals across their opening 21 Eliteserien fixtures this term, with 24 (65%) of them coming on home soil. The Canaries have found the back of the net in 9/10 (90%) of their league contests as hosts – striking on multiple occasions in six (60%) of them – and they will look to breach a Rosenborg defence that’s registered a solitary clean sheet across their previous eight road trips in the Eliteserien, shipping two or more goals in five (63%) of them.
Rosenborg have scored 29 goals across their opening 22 Eliteserien fixtures this campaign, with 10 (34%) of them coming on their travels. The Trondheim-based club have made the net bulge in 14 of their previous 17 league contests – including in six of their last eight on the road – and they will aim to breach a Lillestrøm defence that has registered a league-low two clean sheets in the Eliteserien this season.

Lillestrøm’s Eliteserien fixtures in front of their supporters this season are averaging a whopping 4.10 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals landing in 9/10 (90%) of them – and given the same has landed in five of Rosenborg’s previous eight Eliteserien fixtures on the road – I’m happy to have a punt on there to be a minimum of three strikes, with both teams contributing in what promises to be an entertaining encounter.
