Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me stay in Scandinavia and there’s a fixture in the Norwegian OBOS-ligaen that appeals to me for goals.
Skeid vs Grorud IL
⏰ Sunday 3rd July, 14:00
Two of the bottom three in the OBLS-ligaen table go head-to-head in the capital, as bottom-placed Skeid play host to 14th-placed Grorud at the Nordre Äsen.
Skeid suffered yet another defeat last time out, as they lost 1-0 away to Raufoss. Gard Holme’s side have now lost 10 of their opening 11 league fixtures, with their only points coming in a 3-1 win at home to the side directly above them in the table, Stjørdals-Blink. The Bulls are yet to keep a clean sheet this season and no side in the OBOS-ligaen has conceded more than their tally of 23. Skeid have found the back of the net in 5/6 of their home matches this season, scoring on multiple occasions in four of them.
Grorud conceded a goal in each half to lose to 0-2 at home to runaway league leaders Brann last time out. Grorud are the only team in the whole of the division yet to win this season (W0-D6-L5) and come into this fixture having lost three of their last four. Aksel Bergo’s side have also yet to keep a clean sheet this season and only their hosts have conceded more than the 22 they have this season. Grorud have found the back of the net in 9/11 of their league matches this season, including in all six on their travels. In fact, Grorud have scored 14 times this season, with nine of those coming on the road.
Bet of the Day
Both sides have struggled so far this season, with the hosts having lost 10/11 of their league fixtures to date, while the visitors are still winless, so know how important three points are here. Skeid are yet to keep a clean sheet this season and given Grorud have found the back of the net in all six of their away fixtures this season, scoring nine times, we should see the visitors net here. However, Grorud are also yet to keep a clean this season and given Skeid have scored in 5/6 of their home fixtures, as well scoring two or more in four of them, they should also make the net bulge. With the pair having let in 45 goals in their combined fixtures this season, there’s a strong chance we’ll see at least three goals in Oslo, with both sides contributing.
