Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on the MLS and I’ve picked out a game that has the potential to being a high-scoring one.
CF Montréal vs FC Cincinnati
🇺🇸 MLS
⏰ Sunday 29 May, 00:30
Two sides who are currently positioned in the Eastern Conference playoff places meet at Saputo Stadium, as Montréal host Cincinnati. The hosts are currently positioned in fifth place, one point and one place above their visiting opponents.
Montréal lost by a 2-1 scoreline for the second successive match last time out, as they lost at home to Real Salt Lake. Prior to those two defeats, Wilfried Nancy’s side had won six and drawn two of their previous eight fixtures, including three successive wins at home. Montréal have found the back of the net in each of their last 12 MLS fixtures, with no side scoring more than their tally of 24 goals in the Eastern Conference. Le CFM have only been able to register just one clean sheet in their 13 league fixtures this season, with only three sides in both the Eastern and Western Conference’s conceding more.
Cincinnati saw their four-match winning run come to an end last time out, as they lost 2-3 at home to New England Revolution in an end-to-end game. Pat Noonan’s side are still unbeaten in each of their last four matches away from home, winning each of their last three. Cincinnati have found the back of the net in each of their last six MLS fixtures, scoring 10 times. The Orange and Blue have only registered three clean sheets in their 13 league fixtures this season, with only three sides in the Eastern Conference conceding more than the 21 goals they have conceded.
Bet of the Day
Both Montréal and Cincinnati have made impressive starts to their campaigns and I’m expecting an entertaining encounter between the two this evening. Montréal have found the back of the net in each of their last 12 MLS games and are the joint top-scorers in the Eastern Conference and they should net at least once against a Cincinnati side that’s registered just three clean sheets all season. Montréal themselves have struggled for clean sheets, registering just one and with Cincinnati scoring in each of their last six MLS games, scoring 10 times, I also expect them to get on the scoresheet. The reverse fixture between the two at the start of last month finished 3-4 and given both sides records at both ends of the pitch this season, I’m happy to back at least three match goals with both sides contributing.
