Friday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me take my usual trip to the Dutch second tier, and there’s one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals.

Second in the Dutch Eerste Divisie table hosts third on Friday night, as PEC Zwolle welcome MVV to the MAC³PARK Stadion in a fixture that promises goals.
PEC Zwolle followed up their 3-2 success over league leaders Heracles by grinding out a 0-1 win away at bottom side Jong Utrecht on Monday evening to take them within two points of league leaders Heracles. Dick Schreuder’s men have found the back of the net in all bar one of their 12 league matches this season, and they are the second-highest scorers in the Eerste Divisie – netting 28 times. However, the Blauwvingers are yet to keep a clean sheet at home this season, conceding 10 times across their six fixtures in front of their supporters.
MVV got back to winning ways last time out, as they defeated lowly Den Bosch 3-1 at home. That result means that the Maastricht-based club come into this fixture having collected 16 points from the last 18 available. Maurice Verberne’s visitors have found the back of the net in all bar one of their 12 league outings this season and are the third-highest scorers in the Dutch second tier – netting on 24 occasions. However, MVV have managed only a solitary clean sheet this season, conceding 19 goals across their 12 league outings.
Bet of the Day
PEC Zwolle come into this match after having secured back-to-back victories and will look to keep pace with league leaders Heracles but face a tough task against an MVV side that’s won five and drawn one of their last six matches. Both clubs have been scoring plenty of goals this season but have been suspect defensively. Therefore, we should see an entertaining fixture full of goals.
Collectively, Over 2.5 Goals has landed in 19/24 of the pair’s Eerste Divisie fixtures this season and given both teams' records at both ends of the pitch, we should see at least three strikes here with both sides contributing.
