Friday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on the Dutch Eerste Divisie. There’s two sides at home who I think will win to give us a nice solid double.
Ajax II vs AZ II

Two sides having contrasting seasons go head to head at De Toekomst as Ajax II host AZ II. The hosts come into this in fifth, whilst the visitors are lying in 15th position.
Ajax II suffered their first defeat in the league since the first day in October, as they lost 1-0 away at Telstar. Prior to that defeat, Ajax II were unbeaten in 13 league games, winning nine. Ajax II haven’t lost at home since losing their opening two matches at the start of the season, winning seven and drawing two of their last nine. John Heitinga’s youngsters are the fourth-highest scorers in the division, scoring 49 goals in their opening 23 matches.
AZ II failed to build on their first win in the league since the start of October, as they lost 1-0 against Oss last time out. After winning six of their opening nine league fixtures, AZ II have won just one of their last 14, drawing four and losing their other nine. Away from home, AZ II failed to win any of their last nine matches away, losing eight, failing to score in six of them. Only Helmond Sport (20) have scored fewer goals in the division, with AZ II scoring just 21 goals in their opening 23 fixtures.
Volendam vs Utrecht II

Volendam will look to consolidate their place at the top of Dutch Eerste Divisie, as they host Utrecht II at the Kras Stadion. The hosts are currently four points clear of both ADO Den Haag and Emmen at the top of the division, whilst the visitors lie in a lowly 17th position.
After their goalless draw at NAC Breda, Volendam got back to winning ways last time out, as they won 0-1 away at MVV. Volendam haven’t lost in the league since matchday two, winning 15 and drawing six of their last 21 matches. The other Oranje have been strong at home this season, winning seven of their last eight, only dropping points against third-placed Emmen in that run. Volendam are the leagues joint-highest scorers, with Wim Jonk’s side scoring 53 times in just 23 matches this season.
Utrecht II poor run of form continued last time out, as they lost 0-4 at home to 19th placed Dordrecht. That’s now back to back 4-0 defeats for Utrecht II, with them losing each of their last four by a 0-12 aggregate. Utrecht II have won just one of their last 11 in the league, drawing one and losing the other nine. Only three sides have scored fewer than Utrecht II’s tally of 24, with only four sides conceding more than the 43 they’ve conceded.
Bet of the Day
Ajax II will look to keep up their strong home record, as they take on a struggling AZ II side. John Heitinga’s youngsters have won seven of their last nine at home, scoring 25 goals and should be too strong for an AZ II side that’s lost eight of their last nine on the road, failing to score in six of them. League leaders Volendam will look to claim yet another three points, as they host an out-of-form Utrecht II side. The visitors have lost nine of their last 11 in the league, including each of their last four. Wim Jonk’s hosts have won seven of their last eight at home, scoring 20 goals and should claim a fairly routine three points against as poor Utrecht II side
