Football Bet of the Day

After making it three consecutive winners at Toulouse on Wednesday, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the goal-laden Dutch Eredivisie, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

⚽️ NAC vs Go Ahead Eagles

🇳🇱 Eredivisie

⏰ Saturday 1 November, 17:45

Two clubs separated only by four points in the Eredivisie table meet at the Rat Verlegh Stadion on Saturday evening as 14th-placed NAC plays host to 11th-placed Go Ahead Eagles in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.

Carl Hoefkens’s hosts have scored 13 goals across their opening 10 Eredivisie fixtures this campaign, with seven (54%) of them coming on home soil.

After failing to score in three of their opening four league outings, the Breda-based outfit have made the net bulge in each of their next six – scoring on multiple occasions in four (67%) of them – and will look to continue their hot streak in front of goal against an Eagles defence that has shipped 2+ goals in 4/5 (80%) of their away matches in the Dutch top flight this season.

Melvin Boel’s visitors have scored 17 goals across their opening 10 Eredivisie fixtures this term, with nine (53%) of them coming on their travels.

The reigning KNVB Cup winners have failed to score just once in the Eredivisie this term – notching 2+ goals in an impressive seven (70%) of them – and will be confident of breaching an NAC that is yet to record a clean sheet in the Dutch top flight this season, shipping multiple goals in 7/10 (70%) of them.

Bet of the Day

NAC’s previous nine Eredivisie contests have averaged 3.33 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score naming in seven (78%) of them – including in each of their last six – whilst eight (89%) have gone Over 2.5 Goals (2-1, 0-3, 0-1, 2-2, 2-1, 1-2, 1-2, 2-2 & 3-3).

The Eagles’ opening 14 contests in all competitions this term have averaged 3.07 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score landing in nine (64%) of them, whilst 10 (71%) have seen a minimum of three strikes – including 6/7 (86%) of their matches away home their home base (1-2, 2-2, 2-2, 2-0, 2-4, 2-1 & 1-2).

Given the form in which the attacks of these teams arrive into this fixture in, coupled with their defensive vulnerabilities, I expect to see an open and entertaining encounter in Breda between these two sides on Saturday night.

  • Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals
  • Pays 10/11 (Bet365)
