NO matter how many times they tell us it's hard to believe Celtic don't fear PSG's £450m strikeforce.

Every world-class defender – and the Hoops don't have any – would sweat at the prospect of facing Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani.

PSG respect Celtic's Champions League home record – defeats to just three teams in 27 group stage matches – but this is the most expensive and hyped-up assembled squad to visit Parkhead.

Behind the front three though there are weaknesses and Celtic should be able to score against a side that's conceded to Toulouse and Metz this season. So whatever you think the result might be the best bet is to go for goals.

Celtic have only one fit centre-half in the shape of Jozo Simunovic so either Mikael Lustig is moved inside and young Anthony Ralston plays left-back or midfielder Nir Bitton plays as a makeshift stopper as he did against Astana with mixed results.

There won't be many backing Celtic at a best 12-1 with McBookie but the high odds offer up other opportunities.

Just to score Celtic are worth taking at evens with Betfred and if you fancy them to net 2+ as they did against Man City last season the price is 21-5 with Coral.

Scott Sinclair is 18-1 to score first and cracking value at 11-2 to net – while Leigh Griffiths who has been passed fit is 13-2 and 21-2 respectively. Moussa Dembele is still crocked and won't play a part.

Compare that to PSG's superstars. Neymar is 17-5 at McBookie to bag the opener with Mbappe 4-1 and Cavani 23-10 favourite.

PSG are no bigger than 1-4 at bet365 to win and if you fancy them to do it in style try PSG -1 at 4-7 with McBookie

I prefer to go for goals and over 3.5 goals has a chance at 6-5 with Marathonbet while PSG and over 2.5 goals is also likely at 8-13 with Coral.

Recommended Bets

  • Celtic to score
  • Sinclair to score
  • Neymar to score first
  • PSG & over 3.5 match goals

    CELTIC VS PSG

Everyone knows I’m a Celtic fan and at times I’ll admit I bet with my heart rather than my head. Tonight see Celtic take on PSG. Let’s be honest, I believe PSG will have too much for Celtic however I think it will be an open game with both sides attacking from the first whistle. Although I believe PSG will win I do feel as though the bookies have overpriced which as Mr Fixit pointed out, leaves you the option to find value elsewhere. Celtic’s best chance of a goal is likely from a set piece so it won’t be a surprise to punters that I’m taking a chance on my fav player Lustig. He’s due a goal and 888sport have him priced up at 110/1 for First Goalscorer and 35/1 for anytime. The anytime price will be my main bet as it’s very generous compared to the likes of Betvictor 11/1 and William Hill 12/1. For obvious reasons I’ll have a small punt on him first goalscorer too. You’ve got big Simunovic too howevever in my opinion Lustig looks more keen to get forward and is dangerous in the box.

    Recommended Bet (from the heart)

    Lustig First Goalscorer @ 110/1
    Lustig Anytime Goalscorer @ 35/1

    Good luck everyone

Brown to get booked looks a bit overpriced with betvictor at 9/4
