I SET up this trial to prove to long-shot fan Lee that backing big accumulators wasn't the way to go.
He challenged me to an experiment to see who could make a 20-point betting bank last longer and he's the winner – so I'll need to buy him a few beers.
So far the trial hasn't proved him right because he has no winners out of five bets at odds of over 10-1. However, it has shown backing so-called bankers can also take you down a rocky road and on a tricky week I ended up with just one winner out of five.
If my bank had been healthy I've had sided with PSG but in the end went with Heerenveen at 3-4 and their 0-0 draw at Dordrecht wasn't what anyone would have predicted.
The trial is starting again after Lee challenged anyone on the site to take him on. Anyone can do this and keep their own tally but I will post one person's Bank Builder each day and whoever has most points at the end of February will win £50 of betting vouchers – £25 from Lee and doubled by the site.
Rules are simple. Post any tip stating the odds at any price for any sport and how many points you want on it. Please put the start time for the match or the event. Reasoning is welcome but not necessary.
Lee's single or accumulator must be a minimum 10-1 and both will start with 20 points.

Making a return to the site after a month break due to loss of form. Would like a go at this becaue I think I’m *quite* good at picking out low odds winners, my Daily Evens Bet record prior to Christmas supports this. Well, on a night when St.Mirren keep a clean sheet (first of the season) and Bayern get humped of a team they’ve beat 8 times in a row previously no wonder your banks dry mr.F. Its been one of those weeks, but I’m throwing my hat in the ring for this as I have recently started doing ‘challenges’ i.e £20 to £100 and been very successful. More successful than what I was doing before, trebles etc. My challenge strategy would be very different to yours as I only back goal markets and not the dreaded WDW market. Over the last few day/weeks I’ve had reasonable success building doubles/trebles with NBA bets of odds of anything from 1/2 and 1/5. 12 out of 14 winning markets since Sunday. I think if there was enough games I could land a 1/3 almost every night, which is why I’ve picked out what I think would be the lowest risk bets for tonights NBA games (posted in the US thread) just to see how my estimations come close. I’d be up for the challenge Mr F. If there was one tonight it would be in the NBA, Toronto Raptors Money Line @ 2/7 @ WillHill. Tip off 12:35AM (subject to delay because they’re American and they start when they want).
Been looking at different markets all day and i reckon the cards market and the corner markets and goals before or after a certain times are the best markets for value and i reckon you could get a decent bank builder doing these bets as you would be able to have more bets with your bank as well down to the decent odds you can get for corner and card markets.
So i would be willing to put this theory on the line in the challenge with Lee.
Had a trial run with the above markets and i was quite surprised at the success they had so i reckon i could get a few bets up and i reckon no more than 3 losses would be the worse i would achieve.
Plus i have been keeping tabs on the bets/selections and since i have been doing this it is quite remarkable the amount that have came in also this gives a good idea of what your having more success at or not and then you can adjust the betting strategy to 1 of the others that you have in your arsenal.

I think versatility is actually the key to bank building. Don’t stick to the same markets. In one game I may pick a team draw no bet and in the next bet on the 2-3 goals band. Believing in your instincts and staying disciplined you can make a good fun sized profit. I actually learned all this on here so I’d like to have a go at it
