ARSENE WENGER reckons finishing second in the English Premier League will be no disgrace – and that's about the best it's going to get for the Gunners.
Arsenal go into Sunday's clash at Blackpool 10 points behind Man United and the title now looks a lost cause.
However, there is no way Wenger's boys will be giving up lightly and although they are pretty short at 4-9 with Ladbrokes I'm pretty sure the Gunners will win at Bloomfield Road.
Arsenal failed to net at home to Blackburn last week but are often more nervy at the Emirates and better away from home.
Blackpool's attacking approach is likely to play into their hands and there should be plenty of goals as has been the trend in games involving Ian Holloway's side who are a biggest 8-1 at Chandler.
You've got to imagine there will be more than three goals as usual at 4-9 with firms including Coral while both teams to score pays 11-10 at Coral.
Robin van Persie's my pick for first scorer at 10-3 with Hills and Betfred while there will be plenty of money on Blackpool's deadball expert Charlie Adam at 12-1 with bet365.
The other Premier League game features Aston Villa at home to Newcastle and it's one Gerard Houllier's men could do with winning as they fight to beat the drop.
Villa haven't won in four but put on an improved display at Everton last week and I can see them edging this one.
They are a best 20-23 at Stan James while Newcastle are 15-4 with firms such as Chandler and bet365.
Darren Bent netted two at Everton last week and is worth taking at 4-1 with Coral to break the deadlock.
It should be one for both teams to score and that pays 17-20 with Chandler.
Recommendations
- Van Persie to score first (10-3, Hills, Betfred)
- Bent to score first (4-1, Coral)
