ANDY MURRAY sealed a career-best 25th straight win yesterday and is back in action today at the Qatar Open.
The world No.1 chalked up the milestone victory with a straight-sets romp over Jeremy Chardy and it should be more of the same when he takes on Austria`s Gerard Melzer, who is 18-1 at bet365 to stage an almighty surprise.
Murray covered the -6.5 game handicap against Chardy and is 4-5 at Paddy Power to do the same again while Melzer is 11-2 at Ladbrokes to win a set.
World No.2 Novak Djokovic takes on Horacio Zeballos while this morning`s early action at the Brisbane Open sees Britain`s Kyle Edmund the 17-10 outsider at BetVictor in his battle with world No.15 Lucas Pouille (4-7, Sportingbet).
Elsewhere today there`s plenty more tennis plus the likes of NBA, NHL and cricket worth a flutter so as usual let`s hear all your tips and chat.

Really unlucky there man ?
Unlucky mate, bet you he missed a free throw as well!
So sorry mate, didn’t get back to you. Fell asleep and forgot to check your reply. Very unlucky mate, so frustrating when a bet goes down so closely. Chin up!
Haha Na he didn’t miss a free throw had 4 out of 4.he just had a bad first half scoring only 4..?
Never mind more tonight to try redeem myself ..hope ya didn’t place the bet in the end baggio..?
Wish I stuck to my choices on my first and second posts yday-Isiah thomas and Aldridge had great games…
Spurs -5.5 @ 1.90 (Bet365) – *WON*
Spurs prove again that they are money after a loss ??.. a blowout 28 point win against the Raptors. 19-3 now after a loss since last season.
Turns out I was also right about the King’s, I just knew I wouldn’t be up late enough to see the team news, Faried didn’t play and that for me was the key element.
Updated record
Week – 2-1
Season – 49-37
Spurs -1.5
Celtics -1.5
1.06/1 Double – 2pts
*WON*
Spurs won by 28 and Celtics by 11.
The joys of betting, sometimes you wish you played safer and sometimes you wish you got more value.
Nice win again ??
Tbh I understand why people do teasers, because they ‘feel’ more secure. But you can always find value in the full spread.
In the long run taking the full spread is more profitable, it’s all about discipline and being selective.
I have always wondered how they decide the spread? Average scores/team news/recent form?
The bookies main aim is to get 50/50 action on both sides, the spread is decided based on all of the things you’ve mention above… plus whether the team are home or away.
Based on what @raoul-duke? How is it more profitable in the long run? Get better odds on a teaser than a single full line. Nothing to do with discipline. Research and luck in my opinion.
Smashed it guys well done the 3 of ya ?????
Joel Embiid Over 27 Points and Rebounds @ 5/6 @ PP – 3 points **WIN**
Rookie of the year?
Best priced @ 1/4 so I should think so bud haha
@jordan I was going to mention you as someone that profits from teasers, and that’s because you pick and choose the right moments.. you might play what, 2 a week? Sometimes 3?..
My point is if you play a 2 or 3 team teaser every night inevitably 1 or 2 teams are going to let you down.
Also, you miss out on value when the teams would have covered the full spread anyway. This happened to me a lot when I used to play teasers, so I stopped.
You talk about luck, but we all need a bit of that when it comes to betting, whether you’re taking the full spread or not.
I see your point mate. Agreed that one team will let you down more often than not, and I do think why didn’t I just take the single, but that’s hindsight. I just personally think double digit spreads are a big shout even in the NBA. Never comfortable betting them and never will be. I don’t even like taking single digit spreads if I’m honest. It genuinely depends on the card and a few factors I look at such as opponent points per game, team possessions per game, player usage % (for props) opponent points in the paint etc. I’m not one of these 5-2 on three days rest after a loss after eating steak on a Tuesday night kind of guys, but I appreciate people do bet by trends and find success.
Luck is the number one thing EVERYONE needs in betting. Trust me mate, I can put all the work in for a bet and it could come a cropper. For instance, the Seahawks the other day needed to win by -3.5, and they won by 2 because their own Special Teams snapped the ball through the back of their own endzone to give the 49ers 2 points and down the bet. There were also other factors like resting Wilson in the fourth quarter, or getting a first down instead of taking a field goal. EVERYTHING in betting is luck based mate. Could have all the confidence in the world and it can go down like a lead balloon. We put our money down and that’s all we can do. Luck takes control of the rest.
Steak on a Tuesday night haha ??
That’s what makes sports betting interesting, there are literally hundreds of ways to analyse a game.
Trends are something that I use as a guide, back to back games is definitely one I’ll look at regularly, Spurs after a loss helped me last night as well.
I also look for situational bets, like revenge.. if a team loses by a 3pt buzzer beater, then gets a chance for revenge a few days later… for example.
As you said though luck is everything! I think if you genuinely believe that you are above the bookie, that is a problem.
Anyway, teasers, full spreads.. both have pros and cons, bet whatever works for you.
An interesting debate between the two of you, i like different statistics it makes you think more in where you are placing your money.
:D thought I’d add in something of my own.
Whenever I place a bet, I know it can lose and that’s the right mindset to have. Always be prepared to lose is the caption on my profile and has been for a while. Betting is for fun, not an income also.
I know you like your trends but I tend to just look at the last three fixtures or so, check player news, rest etc and go from there. Doesn’t always work but my props have been particularly good so far this season. Still though, luck is everything.
Like Milwaukee tonight?
@jordan That is spot on mate yea! Betting is far from my main source of income, I’m a Technical Author by trade… I use betting to pay for the odd luxury, like end of last season I booked tattoo time with one of the best artists in the country. That’s what it’s all about, using it to treat yourself to things that you’d otherwise find tough to justify.
If I lose it has zero impact on my life. All good fun.
Anyway, do like the Bucks tonight.. but sods law would be the one time I bet against the Knicks, is the time they win ?
Is Porzingis still injured?
If so then i think i will be on the Bucks
It’s good advice. I always say assume your bet’s a loser until it wins.
Also someone said earlier “a losing bet has no effect on my life”.
That should always be the case. Bet what you can afford to lose and never bet because you need to win.
Some great advices there guys..100% spot on..good luck with all your bets tonight lads…. ?

@hunter ello mate great to see u bk
Nice to see you back mate, hope you had a good break.
NFL MVP – Matt Ryan @ 5/4 @ PP – 4 points
Seeing a lot of stuff about this today and here are a few points I have found.
Ryan led the league in yards per attempt, passer rating and Total QBR. He was third in completion percentage and second in touchdown passes. The Falcons went 11-5 and finished as the No. 2 seed in the NFC. Ryan had six games with a QBR over 90 and only three under 60. The Falcons finished 25th in total defense, which makes a case that they couldn’t have done it without him.
There are other cases for Brady, Rodgers and even Elliott (it won’t be Dak). Brady missed four games so while his numbers were incredible, they might question if he had of started that way. Rodgers carried the Packers on his back when ‘running the table’ but he didn’t start the season well, Ryan did (apart from week 1).
Woops woop the oracle hunter is back ?
@fraser51
Taken from Rotoworld
“Coach Jeff Hornacek told the media that Kristaps Porzingis (Achilles) is doubtful for Wednesday’s game vs. the Bucks.
For what it’s worth, Porzingis said after practice on Tuesday (in which he did not participate), that he wants to play Wednesday. We will have to wait for further clarification from the team or Porzingis himself. The Knicks and KP have downplayed this Achilles injury from the start, but it is now becoming somewhat worrisome. If he does not play Wednesday, that would be three straight games Porzingis has missed.”
Matt Ryan has gone to 5/9 @ 365 for the MVP. Still available @ 5/4 @ PP ;)

Unfortunately Ulm were outdone in possibly their worst performance of the season. In hindsight I probably should have played it safer with the Spanish double but I do love a fourfold. Will no doubt be back tomorrow chasing another!

My post has gone in the spam again.
My pick tonight is – Grizzlies -1.5 @ 1.90 (Bet 365)
Did do a write up but it’s gone.
Good luck all.
Summary :
– Grizz b2b record is 7-2 (77.8%)
– No Blake, No CP3
– Clips are 1-6 last 7 games, winning just 1 – against the Suns.
– Clips to struggle on offence against one of the best defenses in the league, Under 198.5 is also a good shout.
Le Bron, Love and Irving all doubts for tonight, Bulls currently 2/1, tempted but put off by their road form.
Love and Irving are not playing, Le Bron still to be confirmed.
Now into 6/4, ive not touched it, ive added U214 to my treble.
NBA Double
Thunder (+7)
Kings (-3.5)
Double @ Evens, Bet365 – 2pts staked.
Good luck with your bets!
2nd and last bet tonight, I was just waiting on news on Fournier to get a better Hawks line.
Atlanta Hawks @ Orlando Magic
Pick – Hawks -1.5 @ 1.90 (Bet365)
Hawks have hit some decent form lately, winning 4 of their last 5 – most notably that away win @ San Antonio.
This is a revenge game for Atlanta, as Orlando beat them at home by 11 points a couple of weeks ago.
That was a game in which Atlanta dominated under the glass 51-38 on rebounds, yet they still came up short… and this is simply down to Orlando’s shooting percentage – hitting 58.6% from the field and 44% from 3pt range – this will not happen again tonight.
Atlanta will dominate the rebounds once again with Howard and Millsap, and I expect Atlanta to get their revenge and win the game.
Good luck all.
Good luck tonight mate.im on board with your hawks -1.5 same price on PP..
Longshot 27/1 – small stakes

Omar Jasika v Alex Bolt (00:30GMT)
Bolt is a very talented player and although he goes into this match as the underdog I feel he is extremely overpriced and fancy him to give his fellow countryman a run for his money. Bolt looked strong in the opening round (6-3, 6-2) against a not too shabby opponent. In contrast, Jasika who was also odds on favourite in his opening round had some problems, edging through with 3 closley fought sets. All-in-all I believe this has good value at small stakes.
Bolt to win @ 13/8, PP – 1pt staked.
Good luck!
