WHILE most of Europe enjoys a couple of days off there is almost a full card in Scotland – and remember they kick off early.

There were four Premiership matches last night and today why not accept a festive gift from McBookie who have enhanced a Celtic/Rangers double to an industry-best evens (max stake £20).

If like me you see both halves of the Old Firm winning you'll bank £20 to pay for a few beers on Boxing Day.

Celtic, despite dropping two points all season, are the riskiest half of the bet as they head for Hamilton on the back of three one-goal victories.

Brendan Rodgers has been tinkering with the team and while he's getting the job done it's not as pretty to watch as it was earlier in the season.

Accies plastic' pitch isn't favoured by the Hoops and they have won two and drawn two on their last four visits scoring just six goals.

Celtic are a best 1-4 with William Hill and as a narrow win looks the call it could go under 2.5 goals at 13-8 with BetBright.

Scott Sinclair netted the winner against Partick on his first start since recovering from injury and is 17-11 at 888sport to score again.

Rodgers has been rotating between Leigh Griffiths and Moussa Dembele up top and it's Griffiths's turn. If he starts take him at 31-10 with 888sport to break the deadlock.

Rangers, meanwhile, are enjoying their best spell of the campaign after successive wins against Aberdeen, Hearts and Hamilton. They're clear in second place and ironically they're playing a bit less football and going more direct to pick up the points.

It should be a fourth win in a row when Inverness visit. The Highlanders are without a victory in seven and crashed 1-0 to the Ibrox men earlier in the season. Rangers are no bigger than 1-2 at Stan James but of course doubles with Celtic you get evens.

I tipped Martyn Waghorn to score first against Hamilton last Friday and having got back in the goal routine with a double I'm on him to score first at 9-2 with Paddy Power.

That's the only two top-flight games on the go so we head straight to the Championship and at Easter Road all eyes will be on Kris Commons who will make his home debut after joining from Celtic. Commons is 11-2 with McBookie to hit the opener and 8-5 to net at any time but Jason Cummings will be looking to steal the thunder as he did last week.

It's now a straight fight between Hibs and Dundee United for the title with both locked on 35 points – nine clear of Falkirk.

The top two should win today and the double pays just over evens at Marathonbet – without enhancements.

Hibs face a Raith side whose goals have dried up. It's one in five games while Neil Lennon's men have conceded three in six. A Hibs win to nil looks on at 23-20 with McBookie.

United's defence is even stingier than Hibs with six succcessive clean sheets and just one goal conceded in eight outings. A Tangerines win to nil against improving St Mirren pays 13-8 at Coral.

Morton held Hibs last week and should go one better at home to a Queen of the South side they hammered 5-0 at Palmerston. Jim Duffy's men are 5-4 at William Hill.

In League One form sides Livingston and Queen's Park clash at Almondvale. Livi have won five in a row and Queen's Park are unbeaten in six. I can see Livi edging this and they are a best 2-5 at Ladbrokes.

Montrose could be best bets in League Two at home to Stirling having won their previous two. They are 5-4 at William Hill.

Bets to Consider

Rangers/Celtic (both 12.30)

(1-1, McBookie)

Hibs/Dundee Utd (1.0, 12.30)

(1-1, Marathonbet)

Waghorn to score first

(9-2, Paddy Power)

Morton (1.0)

The evens on the Old Firm double is good but there is a better offer on at McBookie and Bet Victor.
    Celtic/Rangers both HT/FT – 13/2! Max £20.
Best price elsewhere is 14/5 at Coral. Most places have it at around 5/2 and it’s below 11/5 at BetBright.
I’ll be supporting the Old Firm for once!

It’s only a better offer if it comes up.

If you back your hunches, you’ll win when you know 10% more than the bookie. When you bet on value, you always win over time.
