THE SFL takes centre stage on Boxing Day north of the border – so let’s see if we can deliver a knock-out winning treble to floor the bookies.
And at this festive time let’s hope our coupons don’t turn out to be turkeys!
We kick off in the Irn-Bru First Division and focus on Dundee’s home clash with Morton.
After a bitterly disappointing start to the season that saw them rooted to the bottom of the table the Dens men have moved up to third spot with boss Barry Smith winning the November Manager of the Month award.
Much is expected from the men from the City of Discovery and after losing 1-0 to the Cappielow side earlier in the season they will be looking for revenge.
Smith’s men have won five of their last six matches and I am taking them to continue their decent run by triumphing at 4-7 with Paddy Power, Coral, bet365 and Skybet.
We move on to the Third Division and focus on an improving Peterhead side’s home clash with Montrose.
Head have finally moved off the foot of the table and under new boss Jim McInally there seems to be definite signs of improvement.
They earned a decent 1-0 win over Berwick last week and I reckon they can defeat a Montrose side they have thrashed 5-0, 6-0 and
4-1 in the last three meetings between the clubs.
So far that reason I am taking Peterhead as the second side in my SFL treble at 5-4, widely available.
We finish up in the Third Division and a Stranraer side who have done the business for us many times already this season.
Last weekend they showed their battling qualities as two goals in the final 10 means saw them come from behind to beat Peterhead.
They won’t get it easy again this time around as they make the trip to Broadwood to face Clyde.
But after moving to the top of the Third Division their confidence will be high and I am taking them to pick up the perfect Christmas present of all three points against the Bully Wee.
Go for a Stranraer win at 11-10 with Paddy Power, Ladbrokes and Coral.
