THE British Masters rolls up to The Grove in Hertfordshire with not the greatest line-up but should still be an intriguing weekend.
I played The Grove about five years ago and to be honest wasn’t that impressed but seemingly it has improved quite a bit and if the weather holds there should be some great golf on display.
Ross Fisher is in a rich vein of form, finishing runner-up in his last two consecutive starts on the European Tour. The Englishman will be hoping to go one better here and being 38 under par in his last seven rounds who is to say he won’t do it. His GIR stat is 74.3% (11th) and that could be an important one including putts per gir which is 1.8%.
Also in great form is my pick from last week, Austrian Bernd Wiesberger. He didn’t get off to a great start at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship but recovered with 66 69 67 in the next three rounds to finish T7. He also had a 5th and 2nd in the two previous tournaments.
He hasn’t won since the French Open in 2015 but he’s coming back to form and that first win this season isn’t far away. He has a GIR stat of 74.44% and putts per gir of 1.78% so he’s another worth a watch.

Definitely with you on Wiesberger Ace but also like the look of Richard Bland at 40/1 one of the most consistent players on tour and is in good from with 5 top 20’s in his last 5 events including two T5’s and a T7.
Also can’t help but back Tyrrell Hatton again, with the quality of golf he played last week and the confidence of getting his first Euro win he has to have a good chance here.
Hi Sam C It’s taken a while for Hatton to come good but I agree that with the confidence of winning last week he could have a good week here.
Going for Hatton 20/1
Fisher 18/1
Kjeldson 25/1 all ew
