I WAS hoping to settle down today to watch Andy Murray v Novak Djokovic in the men’s singles final but an incredible display by Roger Federer on Centre Court on Friday put paid to that.

The king of Wimbledon turned back the clock with one of his best performances ever to win in straight sets and if he plays to the same high level he can see off world No.1 Djoko.

That’s still a big if because it will be tough reaching that level again – and he will need to reach it to beat a player who turned him over in last year’s final.

Djokovic won in five sets 12 months ago and you’d fancy him against the older man if it goes to the wire so Fed probably needs to win in three or four sets.

It’s tough to call but I’m siding with Fed to become the oldest winner of the tournament in the Open era.

Djokovic is slight favourite at 10-11 with BetVictor and Coral but the market is moving Federer’s way and he is now even with most firms.
