Stanislas Wawrinka dumped Andy Murray on Sunday night and tackles American Sam Querrey today for a place in the US Open quarter-finals.
The No.25 seed from Switzerland, despite the need for injury time-outs, was impressive in ending Murray's bid but I reckon he will follow the British No.1 out against the hard-hitting 22-year-old American.
Seeded 20, Querrey is the last home player remaining in the draw and will have the New York crowd right behind him.
Wawrinka won their only previous meeting, last year at Indian Wells, but a year on he's facing a player with a 38-18 win/loss record in a season during which he has captured a hugely impressive four ATP titles.
It's Querrey (87-100 Bodog) in the last eight for me but it won't be comfortable and neither will it be in straight sets, so consider 3-1 (7-2, Bet365, Ladbrokes) or perhaps 3-2 (11-2 Betfred, StanJames) to the American.
It's nearly a week since I've had a look at the women's singles but I'm turning my attentions to today's quarter-finals for my treble forecast.
Add No.3 seed Venus Williams (2-5, 888sport) to beat French Open champion Francesca Schiavone and pre-tournament favourite and No.2 seed Kim Clijsters (2-9, Hills) to end the hopes of French Open finalist Samantha Stosur.
