Tennis Tips By David Jack

British No.1 Andy Murray has comfortably reached the last 32 at the US Open and returns to court today against his good friend Stanislas Wawrinka in the Louis Armstrong Stadium.

The pair met in 2008 at Flushing Meadows in the last 16 when Murray won in three sets on his way to the final.

But two years on Swiss ace Wawrinka, also yet to lose a set in New York, will be a tougher prospect than Lukas Lacko and Dustin Brown. He has beaten Murray in three of their eight meetings.

A gutsy battler with a 28-13 season record, Wawrinka won his second ATP career title this year in Casablanca, albeit on clay but was also a hardcourt finalist in Chennai back in January and is unlikely to be swept aside unless Murray is at the very top of his game.

The Scot is 1-10 with Bodog, 888sport and Paddy Power among others with Wawrinka a best-priced 6-1 at Totesport and Paddy Power.

Another straight-sets victory for Murray (3-4, Boylesports) is possible but Wawrinka could sneak a set with a break of serve or on a tie-break.

Murray to win 3-1 is 11-4 at Bet365 and to edge a five-set thriller you will get 10-1 at Stan James. A tie-break certainly can't be ruled out (evens, Bet365).
