BRITISH No.1 Andy Murray tackles Dutchman Robin Haase in the second round of the US Open today and another comfortable win is on the cards for the Scot.
I correctly predicted the world No.4 – and my tip to land his first Grand Slam this month in New York – would see off India's Somdev Devvarman in straight sets on Tuesday and he delivered a 7-6 6-2 6-3 victory.
Murray's 3-10, (Boylesports, Victor Chandler) was the best price to be pocketed from his victory and bookies make him another big favourite (1-12, Sportingbet, Boylesports, Victor Chandler) to see off Haase.
His opponent is 9-1 with Bet365 but there is little chance of Murray crashing out, especially when I have him marked down for title glory!
The pair have met once before, three years ago when Haase surprisingly won in straight sets. The meeting was in Holland so I'll put Murray's loss down to the home support! But there is no chance of Haase maintaining his 100 per cent record against the Scot at Flushing Meadows.
Murray's price isn't value so you're going to have to look at a match scoreline for a worthwhile return. Another 3-0 victory is tempting at 4-7, Victor Chandler.
Haase, 24, and only a month older than Murray, is having the best season of his career. He is currently a career-high 41 in the world and won his only ATP title earlier this year.
He's capable of taking a set off Murray but if the Briton gets into the match quickly we're on for another three-setter.
Recommendation
Murray to beat Haase 3-0
(4-7, Victor Chandler)
