DUNDEE have turned into the great entertainers and it must be tearing boss Paul Hartley's hair out.
The Dens men head to Aberdeen tonight with a defence only slightly more fragile on the road than Dundee United's.
They have conceded 24 to their neighbours' 26 and fans of goals will revel in the fact their last five matches have totalled 24 goals – including a 4-2 win at Partick Thistle last time out and 5-2 routing at Ross County.
So whatever Dundee side turns up at Pittodrie tonight there should be goals on the menu. Surprisingly, over 2.5 goals pays as much as 10-11 at William Hill while over 3.5 is 9-4 with William Hill and bet365.
Both teams have netted in Dee's last five and the Dons contributed to a TV thriller as they edged out Ross County last Sunday. McBookie go a biggest both to score at 39-40.
Aberdeen are a biggest 11-20 with William Hill but I'd much rather go for goals and remember the Dons have lost Danny Ward who has returned to Liverpool so Scott Brown will be in goals. Experienced defender Mary Reynolds is banned.
Dundee are a best 6-1 with McBookie and bet365 and the draw pays 17-5 with McBookie.
It could almost turn into an Adam Rooney v Kane Hemmings contest. Rooney has slammed in nine goals in his last 12 while Hemmings is on fire.
The ex-Rangers striker has netted seven in four games including a hat-trick against Hamilton.
Rooney is 4-1 favourite to score first at McBookie with Hemmings 10-1 at bet365 and Paddy Power and 10-3 to net at any time. His sidekick Greg Stewart, who marked his return from injury with a goal at Firhill, is also 10-1 at Betfred.
To score at anytime Rooney is 21-20 at McBookie while Hemmings looks great value at 10-3 with bet365 and Paddy Power. William Hill have a special – Rooney and Hemmings both to score at 6-1.
Interestingly there has been a goal in the first 15 minutes of Dundee's last seven matches and they were 3-0 up inside 15 minutes at Firhill. William Hill offer 11-5 on the opener coming in the first 15 minutes and 11-4 it arrives from 16-30 minutes.
These are often fiery matches and a red card pays 9-2 at William Hill while a penalty to be awarded is 10-3.
Recommended Bets
Both teams to score (39-40)
Hemmings to score (10-3)
Hemmings/Rooney to score (6-1)
Goal inside first 15 minutes (11-4)
Red card (9-2)
Yep goals looks the bet here Dons too short for me .
@mr-fixit I know Reynolds hasn’t had the best of seasons but to start calling him by a girls name is a bit harsh!!
Good write up, let’s hope for goals then!! :)
Hemmings is a good spot Mr Fixit. He’s scored 7 goals in his last 4 matches including a hat trick as you mentioned and a double. It’s also worth noting that Hemmings hits the penalties. Also you mention about the possibility of the match being fiery so what about a small punt on a player to be sent off for each team @ 55/1 with Paddy Power.
chris guy, as we know you like the long shots. I wish you luck with the 2 reds.
