THE English play-off finals kick off on Saturday with Stevenage taking on Torquay.

There was little between the sides in the regular season with Stevenage finishing one point ahead of their opponents so this is a tough one to call.

Historically, Torquay have the edge and are unbeaten in the six meetings between the sides but Stevenage's 3-0 semi-final aggregate success against Accrington was impressive Stanley and I fancy them to edge it although it may take extra time and even penalties.

Paddy Power rate Torquay slight underdogs at 7-4 to win in normal time and Betfred have Stevenage their outsiders across 90 minutes at an identical price

I think it has all the makings of a draw over 90 minutes and Coral go 23-10 for the stalemate at Old Trafford

Stevenage have kept three clean sheets in the last five while the Gulls have been even more impressive defensively, managing seven shutouts in nine outings, including two against Shrewsbury in the semi-finals.

Those stats point to a low-scoring affair and under 2.5 goals pays a best 4-6 with Stan James. It’s 8-1 (sportingbet) for the deadlock to remain unbroken and that's a possibility.
