Top Scorer: Celtic, Rangers – or Rory?

HERE'S one for Celtic and Rangers fans to debate – or anyone else for that matter.

With Ibrox hitman Martyn Waghorn on 14 goals and Hoops star Leigh Griffiths on 13, McBookie.com are betting on which player will be the top scorer in the whole of Scotland.

Waghorn is the 4-7 favourite with Griffiths next in the betting on 6-4. And remember there is good old Rory McAllister of Peterhead is on 10 and he can be backed at 12-1.

I believe Waghorn will beat Griffiths because he takes penalties and Rangers have been getting a lot of them.

But at the price McAllister, who I tipped (as did Damian Walker in his first-scorers post) to score first yesterday looks worth a small wager.

McBookie spokesman Paul Petrie said: “The Championship is the easier league so you would expect Waghorn to get more chances and therefore more goals. However, Griffiths has only failed to score in three league games and could push him all the way.”
