THERE are three games in Ireland to look at on Tuesday – St Patrick's v Bohemians in the top flight and UCD v Shelbourne and Wexford v Athlone in Division One.

St Pat's will leapfrog their Dublin rivals with a win and despite Bohs' excellent win at leaders and champions Dundalk last Friday it's worth pointing out they haven't beaten Saints in 14 meetings going way back to October 2010.

A home win pays no more than 8-11 at Betfred and Ladbrokes so both to score might be the better shout. These Dublin derbies can be action-packed and both have netted in six of the last seven meetings – the exception being St Pat's 1-0 away win in April.

At Richmond Park the last eight meetings going back to 2011 have seen both sides score and St Pat's have won the last four 3-1, 3-2, 3-2 and 3-1.

Both to score is too big at 5-4 with Coral and I've done a 3pts Super Single on that before it drops. Over 2.5 goals is even bigger at 13-10 with Coral and BetVictor and will be snapped up by people who like going with stats.

But even the form backs up these bets with St Pat's netting five in their last two since losing 2-0 to Dundalk. Bohs of course hit two at Dundalk and have bagged seven in their last three away league games.

UCD's last five matches have seen both score with four going over 3.5 goals but that sequences ends with their meeting at Shelbourne which they won 2-0. Shels will climb above their hosts with a win but UCD have lost just one of their previous nine.

Since that UCD defeat the Shels have won four out of five with a 5-0 defeat being handed out by Dundalk in the Cup.

It's second v fourth and UCD look worthy 21-20 favourites until you dig deeper and see they haven't beaten Shelbourne at home in 20 meetings apart from one penalty shoot-out success. That's a crazy stat and in fact when these sides meet the home team has won just three times in the last 24.

So going on those stats you'd want to back Shelbourne at 3-1 with bet365 or Shelbourne not to lose at 4-5 with bet365.

It's third v fifth when Wexford tackle Athlone and it's tough to call. Athlone have won five of the last six meetings but the one they lost was the previous clash at home in April and of course Wexford were leading 2-0 when the game was abandoned at half-time due to a fire last month.

For anyone not sure this game will be played over 90 minutes and not 45.

Ahh an Irish thread, will you be putting 1 up for the Irish lads to celebrate on this weekend Mr F??? ;)

Like the 10/11 on the over 2.5 MG’s in the UCD V SHELBOURNE game myself though….UCD last 5 homes produced 21 goals, whilst a recently resurgent SHELBOURNE last 5 aways produced 16,odds look decent

Sean, I doubt it – Friday’s too busy for me doing my Record pages and I have no more nights off until then.

Mr F,id be a little wary backing Shelbourne not to lose, this from their site concerning a depleted squad taking into account we aint talking Man City’s squad size here…..Shelbourne manager Kevin Doherty’s troops are once more depleted, with Ryan Robinson being added to those absent through injury (having been concussed in Friday night’s game), while Simon Dixon, Dave Ryan, Paul Andrews and Jack Brady remain on physio Helen Rigney’s treatment list. Craig Walsh having passed a fitness test to play on Friday last, suffered a bang to his ankle in that game, which necessitated him being substituted, and must remain on the doubtful list. Conor Earley returned to the matchday panel on Friday and should do so again on Tuesday
Like i said i prefer the over 2.5 goals option in this game at the slightly better price.
    Good Luck :)

Sean, it’s a stats-based tip and it’s not a main tip – they are on the other thread. Couldn’t ignore the stat but of course team news is key so thanks for putting it up.
