THE WGC-Cadillac Championship is at the tough Trump National Doral’s Blue Monster Course this week with the top 70 in the world rankings taking part.

I like the look of Jordan Spieth this week. He’s had three top-10s this year from four tournaments and is looking in good shape. His driving accuracy is 60% and GIR nearly 66%. He tied fourth in the Northern Trust and but for a double bogey at the par-three fourth could have been in the play-off. His only bad result over the past four months was a missed cut at Torrey Pines.

Another one having a good season so far is Hideki Matsuyama who also finished T4th at the Northern. He’s had three top-five finishes from five and has only one missed cut (at the Farmers) this season. In strokes gained tee to green and strokes gained total he is second on Tour. With a percentage or 71.7 on GIR and driving accuracy of 65.7% I think he is a solid bet for the WGC-Cadillac.

Defending champion Patrick Reed must also be in with a good shout. He has won already this year. At the National he T7 when finishing with a 73 after having a tough time through The Bear Pit. That’s the worst round he’s had this year which was partly due to his driving accuracy that was only 53% and GIR (58%) but then most players found it difficult last week.

With three top-15 finishes this year plus being runner-up twice at this tournament, including last year, you would think Bubba is a stick-on. His driving accuracy was off at the Northern Trust but is normally over 66%. In fact most of his stats were down that week but his putting showed a marked improvement.

Finally the European Tour has the Africa Open at the East London GC and 24-year-old Korean Byeong Hun An seems to be the form horse here. He T7 at the Joburg Open last week and has four top-15 finishes this year. Think he’ll win sometime this year. Good place bet.

3 picks as always for me in the Golf, last week was a bad week for me then again I dont think many would have picked Paddy Harrington to end his drought.

Bubba Watson 16/1 – playing well this ytear and has played well at this course in the past finishing 2nd twice

Sergio Garcia 33/1 e/w- On a tough course like this accuracy can be key and there could be place money for Sergio

Jamie Donaldson 45/1 ew in good form and finished 2nd here last year

    Good Luck
