ANYONE still fancy having a football bet in 2014? It's a funny old game after all.
We were all on a high on Friday night after battering the bookies but results have pretty much gone their way since.
There are three big Championship games on Tuesday and going by form there should be wins for Derby, Ipswich and Wigan – but form in general has gone out the window since Boing Day so is anyone brave enough to do a homes treble.
Derby have suffered a mini stutter of late but bounced back superbly with a 4-0 win at Birmingham on Boxing Day. It was rated the Rams' best display of the season and as Rams fan and site contributor Nathan has pointed out coincided with the return of the experienced John Eustace sitting in front of the defence and allowing full-backs to bomb forward to great effect.
Leeds suffered a shock defeat to Wigan last time out and I can't see them keeping a dynamic Derby side quiet.
Steve McClaren's side can be backed at 8-15 with the likes of McBookie and I'd also consider them at 6-4 with Skybet minus one.
Leeds won the reverse encounter at Elland Road but Nathan among others reckons McClaren will have learned from that defeat by starting Eustace and will be looking to the likes of Scotland strikers Chris Martin and Johnny Russell to hit the target.
Top scorer and penalty taker Martin is 7-2 with firms such as bet365 to score first and 6-5 at Ladbrokes to net at any time.
Russell is 7-1 at bet365 to break the deadlock and 11-5 to hit the target.
Derby are worth a look half-time/full-time at 13-10 with McBookie and over 2.5 goals is likely at 5-6 with Skybet.
Fourth-placed Derby lie two points behind Ipswich in second and that could be the position at the end of 90 minutes. Ipswich, so strong at home, are 8-13 to beat a Charlton side who have gone cold after a superb start to the season.
Star man has been ex-Celtic striker Daryl Murphy with 16 goals and he is 9-2 at boylesports to break the deadlock.
Wigan and Sheffield Wednesday both won on Boxing Day and while I expect Mackay's side to win I'm not having a punt on the match.

Not much on today so that’s my lot for now
Mr F,re McCormack,if you can sort that out for us id be eternally grateful.
Flickhead, latest news suggests Derby are looking at McCormack but I suppose if he moves depends on the fee.
Best bet for the Derby v Leeds game is both to score at 10/11 with William Hill, after some dodgy results i’d rather have a both to score at these odds than a leeds win at 1/2.
11 of derbys last 14 games has seen over 2.5 goals.
10 of Leeds last 13 games has seen both teams score.
Leeds have scored in 10 of their 12 away games this season.
Not a bad super single actually Mr F at just under evens.
Than a derby win i meant*
Derby v Leeds BTTS
Ipswich to win
£10 returns £30, best bet of the day.
As a huge Ipswich fan I would be surprised if we dropped points at home tonight. We’ve been a different class this year, Mick has pulled a real team together. Couple of bets I’ll be on with @Skybet tonight are:
£10 – Ipswich & Derby -1 = 6.23
£5 – Ipswich Under 2.5 & Derby over 2.5 = 3.1
£2.50 – Murphy & Martin first scorer = 20.25
Derby

Just under 9/1
I’ve gone for:
Derby/ Ipswich double
Derby & BTTS single
Ipswich HT/FT single
Cliftonvile
Real Madrid hf/ft
Ipswich
Derby over 2,5
Wigan really did not deserve to win at Leeds and have been mostly very poor this season not seeing a win at home in their last 8 home games, Sheffield have not been very good either but they did beat wigan 2-1 recently and followed that by beating blackburn (at blackburn). I’m predicting a draw but feel that Sheffield could win.
Derby should beat Leeds, but we all thought that when they met at elland rd, Adryan was the difference that day and I’ll be on Leeds DC if he starts.
Ipswich is a no brainer and Murphy should be amongst the scorers.
Sheff DC 4/6
Leeds DC 17/10 (only if Adryan starts)
Murphy anytime. 19/20
7.77/1 treble.
Nathan got any thoughts for the Derby match?
