LIVERPOOL are a biggest 11-10 with Coral to win at Bournemouth tonight – and it's tempting.

What would it have been at this time last season? What would it be if Liverpool were in decent form? For that answer look at the price Chelsea were to win at the Championship's second best side Derby last night – around 1-2.

Bookies are taking a chance by doubling that offer but there are enough doubts surrounding Liverpool to make it a gamble worth doing for them.

It's a huge week for Bournemouth but it could be an even bigger week for Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers. The south-coast minnows have climbed to the top of the table and face the Anfield men in their first League Cup quarter-final.

The tie is banana skin on ice for Rodgers who is under serious pressure after his side’s dismal start to the season and Champions League KO.

The Irishman faces two big tests in a week – first against the Cherries and then Arsenal at the weekend. Two defeats pays 8-1 at Ladbrokes and the firm offer 5-6 Rodgers has left Anfield by the end of the season with Napoli boss Rafael Benitez favourite to be next Anfield boss at 7-1 with Southampton’s Ronald Koeman 10-1.

In Rodgers' defence he had to sell Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge has been injured most of the season. He's lost his SAS and had to settle for Balotelli and Lambert or BAM if you want to go down that road.

Bournemouth will have backers at a best 13-5 with bet365 but it’s worth noting boss Eddie Howe made 10 changes for the meeting with West Brom in the last round and could do so again with promotion a priority.

Liverpool have struggled recently but won 3-1 at Leicester and with Rodgers likely to be close to full strength they should edge this one.

An alternative to match result is to back over 2.5 goals at 5-6 with BetVictor and McBookie.

Bournemouth’s last four have produced 19 goals including a 5-3 defeat of Derby and while Liverpool failed to notch against Man Utd they made chances to win two matches.

Tonight’s other Capital One Cup tie sees Newcastle travel to Spurs and Alan Pardew’s men are likely to take this one more seriously than their hosts as they try to land a trophy for the first time since 1969.

With Sheffield Utd in the semis they'll see that as a chance to reach a final if they can beat Spurs and miss Chelsea in the draw.

Newcastle have avoided defeat in nine of their last 10 League Cup road trips, including victories at Chelsea and Man City.

Spurs have been involved in Europa League action and are certain to rest players – and if they leave out many Newcastle should be the call at 7-2 with bet365 even though they have a couple of injury concerns.

That price is so big you can do Newcastle draw no bet at 13-5 with 888sport.

Do you not think Btts Spurs v newcastle @ 4/6 looks a pretty safe bet Mr F? and i expect Bournemouth to at the very least score, you think liverpool so Btts could be the call in that also @ 4/6.
Btts double pays around £27 to a £10 stake.

Sean, I’d rather do the Bournemouth game but team news is crucial. Btts between Spurs-Newcastle is 2 out of 6 at White Hart Lane including a 2-1 to Newcastle this season.

    1-2 at white hart lane just 6 weeks ago and with the magpies scoring regularly away recently and you have to expect Spurs to take a goal at home the Btts looks the call to me, anyway ive backed Btts in both games on one bet and taken your PROMISE on a Liverpool win { may the lord look down on me and forgive me backing liverpool in a moment of weakness and greed when i know he is like me a United Mancunian }

Btts I’m on with that Sean Ireland . Bornemouth and spurs matches . Classic pursuit and temple road 9/2 +11/2 £5 on each to take on the field in the 6f handicap at kempton tomorrow . Good luck to all punting today . Think that kempton hcp is the 5.10 . £5.25 @9/2 and £4.75 @11/2 a bit of dutching . Either horse has a outstanding chance .

I’m at best a pessimistic Spurs fan and I really can’t see anything but a win for us tonight.

As much as I love my beloved Spurs I think we will lose tonight as we just don’t have anything upfront. Would love a win then avoid Chelsea but as a silver lining bet I will be backing the Geordies

Not sure which is the active thread at the moment, but Dijon at 6/5 on friday night at chateraoux (2nd bottom) looks a pretty appealing price to me. Looks a hugely tempting bet and i’d expect that price to drop probably by tomorrow. So get on it people.
