A FEW weeks back backing Man City to win the derby would have been no-brainer but now there is no concensus.
I've seen people tipping the home, away and draw as well as both teams to score, overs and unders. Doubts over City come after back-to-back defeats to West Ham and Newcastle and four wins 12 games which certainly isn't championship form.
United will fancy their chances of making it three in a row but the stat that worries me most about Louis van Gaal's side is no wins away from home in the league – not even against promoted pair Burnley and Leicester.
City seem to have virtually owned the derby in recent seasons but while they did the double over United last season it's four wins apiece in the last nine with the Blues at home.
Backing goals seems to be the easier call than going for a result but something tells me City will spark back to life and I can see them winning if their big players such as Vincent Kompany, Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero turn up. City will be minus David Silva and that's a blow but Joe Hart will be back after missing the Newcastle defeat.
United will be boosted by the return of Wayne Rooney and with Radamel Falcao out if anyone's going to score for United it's the skipper who is 11-4 with Coral.
Aguero is my pick for first scorer at 4-1 with Ladbrokes and others and is 11-10 at Ladbrokes to net at any time.
For a side who have been so good at the Etihad in the last two seasons City look a bit of value at 19-20 with Paddy Power, William Hill and Ladbrokes. United are 10-3 at Betfred with the draw 29-10 at boylesports.
The last four meetings between the sides have produced 16 goals and with defensive problems in both camps I can't resist over 3.5 goals at 13-8 with William Hill. Both teams should score but it pays no bigger than 11-20 at Ladbrokes.
I've thought long and hard over this game and reckon it's much tougher to predict than last season's two meetings mainly because of City's drop ins standards. I'm not totally confident about the tips so call it the way you see it and remember to bet wisely.

I cant resist Utd win and btts 5/1
City will show why they’re champions and bounce back from this dip in form. Can’t see past them winning and at 10/11 for a home win I’m taking them while I can. We surely won’t see them at such a home price again this season, except maybe in the CL (Coral)
Just had a look and City now gone to 1/1 at Coral. 10/11 last night. What’s going on?
stagger, as I said in my post there is money for all outcomes. Won’t take too much on Man Utd to puh City out a bit. Anyway, off to the boy’s football and will be back about 2pm to catch up on what’s happening.
City -2 corners for me
Got a feeling that both teams have been going overkill on the defending in training this week and although any outcome is possible in a Derby match (So go easy on the stakes) ive decided to go for 2 or 3 goals in this match.
5/4 @ BV ;)
btts&draw
correct scores: 2-2, 2-3, 3-3
Lets be honest literally anything can happen in this match. Facts are aguero, rooney toure like to scor in previous and kompany will probs score or be sent off :) 10ers on rooney 1st goal 1-20 at 16s and rooney 2+goals same stake n odds. Was tempted to bet over 3.5tg for em both cus defences av never been as bad surely. Hope its a goalfest for everyone tho cum on rodney you plonker
City now up to 11/10
I’ll be having a small bet on 3-2 City at 22/1
Man City -2. 21/4. Bet365
Man City Win 21/20. Bet365
Man Utds price is stupid considering the record they have. Moyes had done better at this point last season and they were still in 4 competitions without spending 200m+.
They have also had a considerably easier start to this league campaign, with the extended breaks (because of lack of CL/LC football). Narrow wins over West Ham and Everton (that they narrowly won) and a win over a very poor QPR team and a home draw at Chelsea (also achieved by Moyes). I cant see what all the fuss is about.
I cant see City not being up for this, as they haven’t in the past few games. This is all bookies hype to sucker people in.
Man City Starting 11
Hart, Zabaleta, Kolarov, Demichelis, Kompany, Fernando, Yaya Toure, Navas, Milner, Jovetic, Aguero.
Man Utd Starting 11
De Gea, Valencia, Smalling, Rojo, Shaw, Blind, Fellaini, Januzaj, Rooney, Di Maria, van Persie
Very attacking team from Man Utd should see plenty of goals in this game.
ladbrokes going money back as a free bet on losing firat goalscorer bets up to £25 if both teams score, seems a good deal.
