NBA betting tips and predictions today: Nets to put up a fight against Celtics, Rockets to rock Thunder

There are plenty of NBA games on the schedule for this evening, which means that there's a lot of options for betting as well. With that in mind, I'll take a closer look at some of these games to provide you with my NBA betting tips for today:

Charlotte Hornets vs Indiana Pacers: Pacers over 121.5 total points @ 9/10

For the first of my NBA tips for today, I'm looking at the East and a duel between two teams that are currently in the playoff picture. While that is expected from Indiana, the Hornets have surprised many by being as competitive as they were so far. Still, the Hornets are a team that's lacklustre on the deffensive end and while this may be a competitive game, the Pacers should score a lot of points.

After all, the Pacers are a high-paced team, currently ranking 7th in points per game with an average of 118.4 points. Meanwhile, the Hornets allow 116.9 points per game to their opponents and they enter this game with a lot of injury concerns, with Miles Bridges joining their two centers Mark Williams and Nick Richards on the sidelines. So, I feel that the Pacers should win this game and score plenty of points.

Boston Celtics vs Brooklyn Nets: Nets to win with handicap (+13) @ 9/10

The Celtics are undoubtedly one of the main favourites to win the title this season after they've already done it last season in a dominant fashion and they did start the season very well. However, they are still without Porzingis and Jaylen Brown is now also on the sidelines, which has caused the Celtics to lose to the Warriors in their last game, which was their second loss of the season.

Meanwhile, the Nets have played surprisingly good basketball so far and they enter this game with a 4-4 record, having won three of their last four games. So, while I don't really expect Brooklyn to win this game, I can see them putting up a good fight and with the spread so high in favour of the Celtics, my second NBA pick for tonight is for the Nets to win with handicap.

OKC Thunder vs Houston Rockets: Rockets to win with handicap (+8.5) @ 9/10

After winning seven in a row to start the season, the Thunder fell to the Nuggets a couple of nights ago. While that is hardly a surprise since the Nuggets are former champions with an MVP in their roster, they were without Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon, so the Thunder were expected to secure an easy win.

So, could the Thunder be slowing down? Perhaps not, but their next opponent is also in good form since the Rockets have won four of their last five games, only losing to Golden State in overtime. The Rockets were also 2-2 against the Thunder last season and have enough quality to at least make the game close, which is what I expect to see tonight.
