Football Bet of the Day 23rd august

After making it four successive winners in Italy on Thursday, Friday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Swiss second tier and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

⚽️ Neuchatel Xamax FCS vs FC Wil

🇨🇭 Challenge League

⏰ Friday 1 November, 18:30

Third-placed Neuchatel Xamax will look to keep the pressure on the top two as they welcome eighth-placed Wil to the Stade de la Maladiere on Friday night in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.

Ulrich Forte’s hosts are the second-highest scorers in the Swiss Challenge League, slamming in 22 goals across their opening 12 matches, with 14 (64%) of them coming on home soil.

Xamax have found the back of the net in nine (75%) of their league outings – nothing on multiple occasions in eight (67%) of them, including in 5/6 (83%) in front of their supporters – and will be confident of adding to their goal tally against a Wil backline that has shipped 11 goals across their opening six road trips.

Marco Hammerli’s visitors have scored 15 goals across their opening 12 matches in the Swiss second tier, with seven (57%) of them coming on their travels.

Die Schwarz-Weissen have found the back of the net in eight (67%) of their league outings – including in 5/6 (83%) of their road trips – and will look to trouble a Xamax defence that has registered a solitary shutout in the league this season, conceding 21 goals.

Bet of the Day

Neuchatel Xamax’s opening 12 contests in the Swiss Challenge League are averaging a league-high 3.58 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in a joint league-best 10 (83%) of them, whilst seven (58%) of them have produced four or more goals.

Those numbers rise even further when playing on home soil, with their opening six league outings in front of their supporters averaging an eye-catching 4.17 goals per game, with all six (100%) seeing Over 2.5 Goals, with four (67%) also producing four or more goals – and given 4/6 (67%) of Wil’s league outings on the road have seen Over 3.5 Goals payout – there’s a good chance we’ll see a high scorer.

Therefore, I’m happy to back the Over 2.75 Asian goal. This would mean if there are exactly three goals scored, we will receive a half-stakes winner, whilst four or more strikes will reward a full payout.

  • Over 2.75 Asian Goal Line
  • Pays 9/10 (Bet365)
