Monday’s Football Tips: Wigan look overpriced at Blackpool with Bruce still absent

Blackpool head into tonight's League One clash with Wigan Athletic off the back of three successive defeats, including a 5-1 thrashing by Peterborough.

Manager Steve Bruce has been missing for the last two games, taking compassionate leave after the tragic death of his grandson.

It looks likely that assistant Steve Agnew will be in charge once more when Wigan, one of Bruce's former clubs, come to Bloomfied Road.

Blackpool have gone four games without a victory in all competitions and that thumping by Posh last Tuesday would have set some alarm bells ringing.

Wigan aren't in great form themselves, with defeats in their last two, but had gone seven without a loss before that and will be looking to get back on track.

With Blackpool in such poor form, I'm surprised to see them as Betano's 3/4 hot favourites and Wigan as big as 17/5. It's probably because Shaun Maloney's side have been out of sorts in their last two games but you can back the Latics at evens in the double chance at Bet365 and that looks decent value.

With Blackpool conceding five in their last game but scoring in three of their last four, going for goals at both ends could be a smart move. Combining BTTS and over 2.5 goals takes you to 6/5 in a bet builder at Betano.

There's not much between the sides and going for the half-time draw also appeals at 11/10 with the same firm.

Real Mallorca vs Athletic Bilbao top betting tips

There's one game in La Liga tonight and it should be a cracker as in-form Atheltic Bilbao head to Real Mallorca.

The Basques got off a slow start but Ernesto Valverde has them flying now, with just one defeat in their last nine outings in all competitions.

Mallorca are in excellent form themselves though, with four wins in their last five, so it's a tricky one to call.

Athletic Club had a Europa League game with Slavia Prague and Mallorca's extra freshness might just give them the edge. Backing the home win pays 17/10 at Betano.

These sides faced off three times last term and none of the meetings hit double figures for corners. That makes under 10.5 corners worth a look tonight at 10/11 with Bet365.

Galatasaray v Besiktas top betting tips

There's an Istanbul derby tonight as Galatasaray host Besiktas and sparks usually fly whenever rivals lock horns in the Turkish capital.

Both teams have yet to taste defeat in the Super Lig this season so that adds extra spice and a win on enemy soil would move Besiktas two points behind the leaders with a game in hand.

The bookies can't see it happening though as Betano make Galatasaray 4/5 favourites, with Besiktas the 5/2 outsiders. Given it ended 5-0 to Besiktas when these sides last faced off in the Super Cup, some punters might fancy a nibble on the away win.

Going for cards is usually a smart move in such a powderkeg fixture and there's been a sending-off in the last three meetings. I can't see any prices in that market just now but the bookies will hopefully price it up closer to kick-off.

The last two meetings have also hit double figures for corners so I like the 6/5 available at Betfred for over 10.5 flag kicks tonight.
