Following on from Tuesday’s winner at Burton, Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the Champions League and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Atalanta will look to continue their unbeaten start to this season’s Champions League as they welcome poor-travelling Celtic to Bergamo in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Gianpiero Gasperini’s hosts have scored 21 goals across their opening 10 Serie A and Champions League fixtures this term, with 10 (48%) of them coming across their four home matches.
La Dea have only failed to score at home to Arsenal on MD1 and away at reigning Serie A champions Inter this season – notching two or more goals in six (60%) of them, including five of their past seven – and will be confident of adding to their goal-tally against a Celtic side that has lost each of their last six Champions League matches on their travels, shipping an incredible 23 goals.
Brendan Rodgers’ visitors have slammed in an impressive 38 goals across their opening 12 matches in all competitions this season, with 14 (37%) of them coming across their five away matches.
The Hoops have remarkably scored a minimum of two goals in 11 (92%) of those matches – even scoring three or more in seven (58%) of them – and possess the quality to breach an Atalanta backline that has kept just two clean sheets in Serie A this season, with both coming against the bottom two in the table.

Atalanta’s opening 10 Serie A and Champions League fixtures this season have averaged 3.4 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in seven (70%) of them, whilst 3/4 (75%) of their home fixtures also featuring goals at both ends – and given Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals has paid out in four of Celtic’s last five contests in all competitions – I’m happy to back these two in-form attacks to produce a minimum of three strikes, with both getting on the scoresheet.
