How the bookies view it: Reds favoured to bank the road win.
Liverpool are odds-on favourites to the tune of 4/5 to collect the match win, which says a lot about their current strength. They have proven to be a very defensively sound unit this season and have won all five away games played in all competitions. Leipzig are in good domestic form, but have suffered back-to-back losses in Europe and are 3/1 underdogs at home.

The only previous time that Leipzig and Liverpool met was during the 2021 Champions League knockout stages. It was all plain-sailing for Liverpool in both of those matches, as they claimed 2–0 victories over the Bundesliga outfit home and away.
Players to watch: Salah to continue scoring streak?
In both of Liverpool's previous matches against RB Leipzig, Mo Salah was on the scoresheet. He is still the obvious source of goals for the Reds this season, with not much else around in terms of genuine goalscoring support for him. Salah has five goals and five assists in all competitions this season, including one of each in the Champions League.
For the Red Bulls, the main source of goals for them this season has been Lois Openda. The Belgian has scored four times in seven Bundesliga appearances during the campaign. However, he has yet to net in the Champions League this season, but is still the focal point of their attack.

Liverpool are expected to field a strong side but will continue without keeper Alisson Becker and potentially Diogo Jota who picked up a knock on the weekend. Leipzig will keep an eye on Openda before the game, as he picked up a knock late into their match on the weekend against Mainz. But both he and Amadou Haidara are expected to take part on Wednesday.

Anything else catch the eye?
The Reds have won both of their Champions League fixtures this season, which ended in comfortable victories over Bologna and AC Milan. So they are ticking over nicely and full of confidence after their Premier League win over Chelsea on the weekend. Arne Slot’s Reds are looking tough to beat as they are strong defensively, and Liverpool are going to rely on that in Germany again. They have won all five matches played away from Anfield in all competitions this season, conceding in just two of those. A Liverpool victory with a clean sheet probably isn’t out of the question, therefore.
Leipzig have yet to pick up a point in this season’s Champions League, losing both of their matches against Atlético Madrid and Juventus by a 1-goal margin. They are the second-lowest scorers in the top half of the current Bundesliga table, albeit with a good run of form under their belt and remaining unbeaten in their domestic campaign. There are not likely to be too many goals in this.
