Nations League B Group 3 Leaders Norway travel to Linz tomorrow evening to take on second-placed Austria in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
After their last-16 exit to Turkey in Euro 2024 in the summer, Ralf Rangnick’s hosts endured a tough start to their Nations League campaign, picking up a solitary point from their opening two matches away at Slovenia and Norway.
However, Das Team got their first victory of the campaign on Thursday evening, as they thrashed bottom side Kazakhstan 4-0 in front of their supporters to push them up into second position, three points behind their upcoming opponents.
After the disappointment of failing to end their 24-year major tournament exile in the summer, Norway impressively began their Nations League campaign, as they sit top of their group after three matches.
Stale Solbakken’s visitors began their campaign with a goalless draw at Kazakhstan, but back-to-back home victories over Austria and Slovenia give them a three-point cushion above both of those nations at the top of League B Group 3.

Austria’s opening three Nations League fixtures this campaign have been full of goals, with the three matches producing a combined total of 11 goals, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in each of their past two.
In fact, five of their last seven and seven of their past 11 competitive fixtures have seen Over 2.5 Goals payout – and given the same has landed in eight of Norway’s previous 11 encounters – I’m happy to have a punt on there being a minimum of three goals in this one, a selection that also landed in the reverse fixture just last month.
