It's another big night in the UEFA Champions League and Bayern Munich's trip to Villa Park takes top billing.

This clash is a repeat of the 1982 European Cup Final and Aston Villa fans will be hoping that's an omen as they beat the Germans giants 1-0 that night to be crowned kings of the continent.

These clubs have gone in different directions since then, with Villa's title defence the following season their last taste of life at Europe's top table for four decades.

Bayern Munich have gone on to lift the trophy three times, most recently in 2020, so this is a massive test of Villa's revival under Unai Emery.

Aston Villa vs Bayern Munich top betting tips

Bayern Munich have made a flying start under new boss Vincent Kompany, although their perfect record came to an end with a 1-1 draw against German champions Leverkusen at the weekend. By all accounts, Bayern should have won that game so that's why Betano make them 8/11 favourites tonight.

This is a game that should bring us plenty of goals, with Kompany's side netting 30 times in just seven games this term and BTTS and over 2.5 goals landing in six of Villa's eight outings.

Combining BTTS and over 2.5 goals only pays 3/4 at Betano but over 3.5 strikes on its own is a bit better at 6/5.

Player bets offer more value and Jamal Musiala is a tempting 10/3 at Betano for an assist. Backing the Bayern playmaker to either score or assist also pays 11/10 at Bet365 and that looks a safer bet.

Morgan Rogers has been catching the eye for Villa of late and scored in the weekend draw with Ispwich. He's 6/5 at Bet365 just to have an effort on target here and that looks decent value.

Liverpool vs Bologna top tips

Apart from a shock loss at home to Nottingham Forest, it has been a superb start for Arne Slot at Liverpool, with the Dutchman winning the rest of his games.

The Reds impressed in their UEFA Champions League opener by beating Milan 3-1 at the San Siro so they should be too strong at Anfield for another Serie A side.

Bologna were the surprise package in Italy last term as they sealed a Champions League slot for the first time but they've been struggling a little since losing boss Thiago Motta to Juventus.

They've claimed just one win all season, albeit five of their seven matches have ended level, including their Euro opener against Shakhtar.

The Italians will probably set up to frustrate so I'm going for a Liverpool win with under 3.5 goals at 57/50 with Betano.

Swiss midfielder Remo Freuler picked up 12 yellows for club and country last term and already has one to his name in this campaign. He's 4/1 for a card here at Bet365 and that looks a good long-odds option.

Lille vs Real Madrid top betting tips

Few teams could touch Real Madrid last term but Carlo Ancelotti's men haven't been as imperious so far this term and head into this Champions League clash with Lille searching for top form.

Real shipped a last-gasp leveller to Atletico in Sunday's derby and that's the third time they've been held to a stalemate in La Liga so far.

They also needed two late goals to see off Stuttgart in their Champions League opener, with the German side dominating for spells at the Bernabeu.

That makes me fancy BTTS in Lille tonight but the odds aren't great at 8/11 with Betano. Combining that with over 2.5 goals takes you to 43/40 in a bet builder and that looks worth a punt, with Lille's last two at home at 3-1 defeat by PSG and a 3-3 draw with Strasbourg.

Jude Bellingham has made a quiet start to the season but is still a class act and I like the evens on offer at Bet365 for him to either score or assist tonight.

Wednesday's Football Tips: Super singles

  • Moran Rogers over 0.5 shots on target 6/5 Bet365
  • Liverpool win and under 3.5 goals 57/50 Betano
  • Jude Bellingham to score or assist Evens Bet365

  • Bologna's Remo Freuler to be carded 4/1 Bet365
