Cairnzy's sole runner of Saturday was a non-runner which left us with Rizzel's two, which saw him land the winner of the Ayr Silver Cup with Alfa Kellenic winning that race with ease.

It was a superb performance by Craig Lidster's progressive filly who clearly wasn't on the right side of the track, as the runners on the far side were a couple of lengths ahead entering the final furlongs but Alfa Kellenic got lonely as she breezed through to the front on her side and then drifed to the far side for some company, which she didn't get as she was a couple of lengths clear of the nearest horse. It was a performance of a Class 1 filly and it's going to be exciting times for connections.

Cairnzy's Tips

Zaynab 9/4 – Listowel 2.00

I managed to find time in the late evening to do some study for Sunday's racing, and I have picked out one selection from the jumps meeting at Listowel to go along side Rizzel's two selections.

Not much caught my eye on the flat so I decided to have a look at the two jumps meetings, and the horse that caught my eye was Gordon Elliots Zaynab in the opener at Listowel. Zaynab was originally campaigned on the flat for trainer Gordon Elliot and showed some encouraging form when taking a step forward on debut to win two on the bounce. Zaynab was then pitched into the Sandringham Stakes at Ascot in her most recent outing, which saw her finish in twelfth place which wasn't a bad effort in the grand scheme of things.

After four races on the flat, Zaynab has earned an OR (Official Rating) of 86 on the flat but being a half sister to the well-regarded Zanahiyr, it's obvious the long term aim is for this filly to go jumping. Her jumping will have to be taken on trust which is always a risk. Zaynab has had three months of the track and you'd assume within this time that Gordon Elliot will have her well school'd for her hurdling debut.

Teriferma who shares favouritsm with my selection hails from the respected J.P. O'Brien stable and is two-for-two over hurdles, however, after looking at the form he's hardly beaten anything of any significance. Additionally, he must concede a significant 17-pound to my selection, which could be a tough ask if Zaynab lives up to expectations.

Rizzel's Tips

Batman's Boy 11/1 – Hamilton 2.12

Sunday's racing doesn't look great, but I thought Batman's Boy was worth a chance on debut in this 2-year-old contest.

The horses who have run so far haven't shown a great level of form, so I think you can take a chance on a debutante to potentially come in and break their maiden tag straight away. Adam West isn't a trainer who has a prolific record with juvenile horses, but I thought it was of major interest that he has sent this horse on debut all the way up to Scotland from his Epsom stables, which is close to a 14-hour round trip (825 miles), which is one heck of a journey, especially for a horse on debut, so they must feel like this is a good opportunity to exploit.

There is no real outstanding pedigree from the runners in this race, and I thought that Batman's Boy's pedigree was one of the better ones even though the Dam was unraced. The Dam has produced two horses so far, one is a three-timer winner and seven times placed over middle-distance trips, with the three wins coming between 7f and 1m, so there's speed and stamina in the pedigree based on his half-sibling's performances.

Adam is 2/6 with one placed horse as well when coming up to Hamilton, producing a profit of +8.63 to £1 level stakes.

With two places on offer, I'm more than happy to go for the win on the nose.

Susiesparkle 2/1 – Hamilton 5.12 (2pt)

I do try and not go for horses who are making quick turnarounds as it's very hit and miss and you don't know what the condition of the horse is, but I think a chance can be taken on Susiesparkle who returns six days after winning at Thirsk on stable debut last time out.

The reason why I think you can take a chance on this horse is because she is running off a 2lb lower mark as the jockey, Mohammed Tabti can claim 5lbs this time around when he could only claim 3lbs last time out, and is she running off the same official mark due to the win being in an apprentice race which means there are no penalties carried if having a quick turnaround. She was pushed along in that race, but that was only to get the horse into top gear and once she reached that, it was an easy success and it wouldn't have been too hard of a race for him, so the six days is hopefully enough for him to run to maximum ability again and win.

Iain Jardine likes to land the occasional gamble and that's what they managed to do with this horse last time out. She was making her stable debut after only being in the yard for a couple of weeks, when previously being trained in Ireland. They must have known that this horse was much better than her current handicap mark as she was backed into 7/2F and won with little fuss. The odds of her previous runs in Ireland before her win at Thirsk were 22/1, 11/1, 50/1 and 28/1, so for them to back the horse that heavily on debut suggests this horse is a fair bit better than what she was showing in Ireland and given she is running off the same mark today, it should be difficult for her to lose.

Anyone remember the batman series in the 60s ?
Well batman was played by Adam west.

The same named trainer has a horse in the first race at Hamilton on Sunday called Batman’s boy.

    Corny or what 😂🦇😂.
Will he be robin the bookies or is this his joker.

With reference to Batman’s boy the yard is 0-10 with it’s 2 year olds this season so I’ll go with the lost canvas at 9-4 as he ran ok in a class 2 on debut and hopefully can put that experience to good use in this lower grade..

I like cairnzy tip in zaynab, it’s always risky backing a horse in a new discipline without seeing it jump in public but if it has schooled well based on it’s flat form should be too good for this lot.
Only query would be that jack Kennedy is on action time for another stable.

    Apax 12-05 crayon 🇫🇷 13-8 top 2 finish bet365.
    Zaynab 2-00 listowel 9-4 bet365.
    The lost canvas 2-12 Hamilton 9-4 bet365.
