Friday’s Football Bet of the Day sees focus on the South American World Cup Qualifiers, and I’ve come up with a way to get the reigning champions on side.

Argentina will look to maintain their position at the top of the South American World Cup qualifying table as they welcome Chile to El Monumental in the early hours of Friday morning in a fixture that I’m keen to back the hosts to collect all three points.
The reigning World and newly crowned Copa America champions head into this clash in great form. Lionel Scaloni’s men have won 25 of their previous 26 internationals, with their solitary defeat in that run coming in a 0-2 defeat against Uruguay in World Cup qualification last November.
La Albiceleste bounced back from that defeat at home to Uruguay, as they claimed a historic 0-1 victory in the Maracana against old rivals Brazil just five days later, leaving them top of the CONMEBOL table, two points clear of the Uruguayans.
Chile have been fairly solid on home soil in World Cup qualification, drawing with both Paraguay and Colombia, as well as defeating basement boys Peru, all without conceding.
However, it’s a different sort on the road for Chile, with La Roja losing each of their opening three qualifiers away from home against Ecuador, Venezuela and Uruguay, conceding on seven occasions and scoring just the once.
Bet of the Day
As already alluded to, Argentina heads into this clash in scintillating form, with the World Champions winning 25 of their previous 26 internationals since their shock World Cup defeat to Saudi Arabia, with 21 of those coming inside 90 minutes.
What’s more, 18 of those victories featured fewer than four goals, including their five wins in World Cup qualification – and given Chile’s lack of goals, particularly on their travels – I’m happy to have a punt on La Albiceleste to win in a match featuring under four goals.
