Rizz is feeling a bit under the weather, therefore we are down to only two selections for Monday's racing. Rizz should be back tomorrow for Tuesday's tips all being well.
Rizz managed to land some eachway profit on Sunday with Path Of Dubai grabbing a place at advised odds of 10/1. His other selection Cockalorum gave it a good go from the front but went backwards in the final furlong or so after seemingly using up a lot of petrol throughout the race. The eventual winner Sea That Storm did well to hang on from my old selection Highwaygrey who was flying up In the final 200 yards.
I've two selections for tomorrow, and fingers crossed they go a bit better than my beloved Everton side, who continue to disappoint me every time I fly over to watch them!
The profit and loss for the month will be updated in tomorrow's thread rather than today's as Rizz is the man who tracks that end of things.
Cairnzy's tips
Paddy De Pole 15/8 – Worcester 4.30
For my first selection, I've decided to have a rattle in the only jumps meeting of the day at Worcester, and my selection comes in the 4.30 in the shape of the Paul Nicholls-trained Paddy De Pole. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm near certain Rizz has tipped this lad up on an occasion or two, not sure whether he let him down or not but I'll be sticking with my selection regardless.
Paddy De Pole has been hugely progressive at the age of 6, winning three out of his last four handicap races. He looks to have another solid chance back in this company once more and arrives here on the back of a good placed effort when contesting in a Class 3 novice hurdler at Uttoxeter back in June. The form of the Uttoxeter run reads well with the winner Gale Mahler going on to win her following two outings, one of which was in Listed company and that resulted in a 10L demolition job at the Galway festival. Furthermore, Flying Fortune who finished runner up in the Uttoxeter contest has since won on his next outing which also boosts the form further.
No Retreat 2/1 – Windsor 6.25
I had the race between my selection No Retreat and Brave Call, and after a bit of thinking, I finally decided on the Roger Varian runner. Connections will be hoping that their expensive purchase can get of the mark at the second time of asking. No Retreat cost a whopping 1,200,000 euros at the breezers last year but was turned over at 5/6 on debut at Newcastle on the AW under jockey Raul Da Silva.
I'm sure at the time connections were probably disappointed with the result given the expensive price tag but given he was only beaten narrowly by decent sorts in the shape of Sisyphean now rated 92 and Native King now rated 84, the finishing position now reads not too badly. The eighth that day Letsbefrank has also boosted the form, that one has been a decent money spinner for the inform Jim Goldie stable, with recent form figures of 11321. No Retreat is short enough at 2/1, but the price is reflective of the strong trainer and jockey booking of James Doyle, alongside the expensive price tag on the horses head. With that said, No Retreat remains completely unexposed and with the form of his debut run now looking strong I see no reason why he can't kick off his season in this pretty ordinary affair.
The main danger looks to be Heather Main's Brave Call, with Hollie Doyle an eye catching jockey booking to take the ride. Brave Call has been contesting in much better races than this and takes a significant drop in grade into this 1m2f maiden.
Overture 7.40 Nottingham tomorrow
Had my eye on this running tomorrow. Could be worth a little look for yourselves.
Cheek pieces on for the first time was what caught my eye. Yard have an excellent strike rate when worn first time.
Only runner of the day for stable.
Yard in excellent form. 33% strike rate the last 2 weeks with 5 from 15.
33% strike rate this season with their 3 year old runners on turf with 14 from 43.
29% strike rate at the track in the last 5 seasons in handicapswith 5 from 17. They are 100% this season with 2 from 2.
Upped in trip last time out at Yarmouth, which is a very similar track to Nottingham. Both left handed flat with sharpish bends. Nottingham has those minor undulations in the home straight but this won’t be a problem as she ran well at Chepstow which has some serious undulations.
Up 4lb for that win at Yarmouth. That was on same ground as it will very likely be tomorrow. Beat Persian Phoenix who has since run twice last week finishing 2nd in both races, both class 5 races ( tomorrow is a class 6), beaten a neck and 3/4 of a length in them.
Run before Nottingham, at Chepstow, although this was only over 7f , finishing 3rd has seen the form franked nicely. The winner, Monkey Miss ,has went and followed up that with another win from 7lb higher mark. The 4th , Bonaventure, won at Windsor over 1m next run. The 6th won next time out as well.
Overture has carried her head awkwardly and shown signs of greenness but the cheek pieces should help with this so expecting a fair bit of improvement so confident she goes in again tomorrow. Will have to see how they price it up whether it’s worth a bet. Prices should be up around 4 or 5 today.
Just a quick mention for everyone to keep an eye on William Haggas 2 year old runners this next few weeks. They are really starting to come to themselves. Bookmakers have been over pricing them massively.

Dreadful midweek rubbish today isn’t it ?.
Try these more in hope than expectation hence no NAP.
Niloufar 5-25 Windsor 5-2.
This has drifted from 11-8 so maybe relevant as he’s up in class to a class 4 today but is in form.
The rest haven’t won above class 5 either so why not.
Not a great write up is it but that’s midweek racing for you ?.

Bailey’s honeymoon 5-55 Windsor 5-2 top 2 finish BETFAIR.
Another shit class 6 so horses are reliably unreliable.
Favourite piranha rama is weighted to finish level with Puglia on last week’s meeting here between the 2.
Bailey’s honeymoon finish 6 lengths behind piranha rama last month at ffos las but gets a 15 pound swing for that today.

Hopefully a ban for Doyle on No Retreat there, that is scandalous!
I see the stewards have not handed out a ban to the jockey for the finish on No Retreat.
I do not understand why not. I know Doyle has done an interview to apologise to those which backed the horse tonight.
Thankfully i did a R/Fc on the 1st and 2nd,
The stewards have made the decision so any disagreements need to be aimed at the stewards and not the jockey
