A place in the final of the women’s football event at the Paris Olympics Is up for grabs as USA battle Germany in the semi-final on Tuesday. The Americans have been impressive so far and having already beaten the Germans in the group stage, should have the upper hand once again.
USA reached the last four of the competition after claiming a 1-0 extra-time victory over Japan in the quarter-finals. They were made to work hard by the Japanese and the clash looked to be headed for penalties before Trinity Rodman scored the winner.

Germany are in the semi-final after seeing off defending champions Canada on penalties following a 0-0 draw in normal time. They were second best for much of the contest and could only muster a single attempt on target but held on enough to win 4-2 in the shoot-out.
