Sixth-placed São Paulo will look to keep pace with the sides above them in the Brazilian Serie A table as they welcome struggling Gremio to the Estádio do Morumbi on Wednesday night/Thursday morning in a fixture that I’m keen to get the hosts on side.
São Paulo saw their four-match winning run come to an end last time out, as they fell to a 2-1 defeat away at Atlético Mineiro to land last Thursday's ‘Bet of the Day’.
Luis Zubeldía will be glad to see his side back on home turf despite failing to win each of their opening two home matches this campaign. The Tricolor Paulista have gone on to win five of their next six Serie A fixtures in front of their supporters, including each of their last three.
Grêmio began their league campaign winning two of their opening three contests but have since gone on to win just one of their next 11 (W1-D2-L8), with that victory coming at home to rock-bottom Fluminense.
Renato Gaúcho’s men have particularly struggled on their travels this season, with his side picking up a solitary point across their opening six road trips (W0-D1-L5), with that coming in a 1-1 draw with the side directly below them in the table, 19th-placed Atlético Go.

As already alluded to, São Paulo heads into this contest having won five of their last six Serie A matches on home soil, and I’m backing them to collect another maximum in front of their supporters against a Grêmio side that has W0-D1-L5 on their travels this season.
