Following a late winner in Canada on Sunday, Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me return to the MLS, and I’ve highlighted one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals.

The Vancouver Whitecaps will look to strengthen their position in the Western Conference playoff places as they welcome improving Sporting KC to BC Place in the early hours of Thursday morning in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Vanni Sartini’s hosts have scored 38 goals across their opening 22 matches in the MLS this term, with 17 (45%) of them coming across their nine contests on home soil.
The Caps have found the back of the net in 8/9 (89%) of their fixtures in front of their supporters – notching on multiple occasions in four of their last seven – and will be confident of adding to their goal tally against an SKC defence that is without a clean sheet in each of their 10 MLS road trips, shipping multiple goals in seven (70%) of them.
Peter Vermes’ visitors have scored 39 goals across their opening 24 matches in MLS this term, with 14 (36%) of them coming on their travels.
Despite their struggles this campaign, SKC have found the back of the net in all bar three of their MLS contests – notching on multiple occasions in six of their last eight – and will look to get on the scoresheet once again against a Caps defence that has recorded only four shutouts this season, and none across their previous 12.

Sporting KC’s opening 24 MLS matches this campaign are averaging an eye-catching 3.67 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals banking in a remarkable 18 of their previous 21 contests – and given the same has landed in six of Vancouver’s last eight MLS encounters on home soil and seven of their previous nine across all venues – I’m happy to have a punt on there being at least three strikes in Western Canada in the early hours of Thursday morning, with both sides scoring.
